I did some googleing after reading your post and found this link:

It shows a picture of the band Tombstone with a very young Brenda (1973). When I do a little calculation, she must be at least some years older than Prince. In this respect and from Prince's point of view (he likes the young ladies...) she wasn't the most obvious choice for Vanity 6. He must have liked her vocals then..

What a fun great find! Brenda was always my favorite...the brassy one who feared nothing.

The fact that 'Blue Limosine' was not a huge hit is a disgrace.
