Tamar's Milk & Honey

I just got a copy of this cd. I must say, I see exactly Universal dropped the deal. Its not very marketable at all. The songs are pretty good, but come on....we all know its not marketable at all. What do u guys think?

yeah it was a pretty shocking album, apart "redhead stepchild" which rocks my socks, the rest was garbage!

Was it not enough talent from Tamar or Prince's input?

the only song i remember is "sunday in the park" which had a beautiful
melody.

i disliked redhead stepchild, don't understand why everyone was raving
about it so much. might have been ok on a prince b-side with prince on
lead vocals though.

That's hard for me to say. I think the girl has a good voice, but the music on the cd was not very marketable. It sounded like Prince's outtakes with a female singing (to me at least). I only liked about 2 or 3 songs. The rest is definitely garbage.

The songs sounded much better live than on record for sure.

Red Headed Stepchild is OK. I don't dislike it. I think people are raving over it because it was a "rock" song. As we know, LOTS of the people here love Prince's rock stuff....while others would prefer the funkier side of Prince.

I like both sides....but Red Headed Stepchild didn't make the cut (to me at leeast).

Sorry if this has been asked before, but: The title track is just "2 the 9s" reworked, right?

"Holla & Shout" shares some elements with "Love" too, it seems to me.

Based on that clip of "Home," I'd say she's less talented than Tamar.

Tamar is a good singer. She just has a fucking good voice.

Bria is lucky she's pretty.

I find Tamar's voice in "Beautiful, Loved and Blessed" very soothing.

Bria sounds like she's strainning her vocal chords.
