Denise Matthews-for anyone wondering what one of her sermons would sound like...

I recently found a little interview Denise Matthews did for an organization geared towards helping girls lead happy, successful and healthy lives. The website is http://www.mpowerd4life.org/ and the interview link is http://godsstar.webs.com/...tthews.pdf

The interview link also shows a beautiful picture of a young Denise Matthews-so be sure to click on it!

After reading the interview, I have to wonder, is this the language she decided to use when she wrote that long-awaited book of hers? If so, yikes!

Anyway, here it is:

GS: How can a person recognize their purpose? Are there any signs?
Denise: Pray without ceasing. Practice hearing His (Jesus) voice.

GS: What steps should a person take after knowing his or her purpose?
Denise: Fast & Pray (Isaiah 58.) to confirm the voice of God over your life.

GS: How can a person overcome sins of the flesh?
Denise: Again Fast & Pray and your unbelief will be removed (Isaiah 58.) Turn off your
television and do not watch any perverted things (Ezekiel 20:7.)

GS: How can a person begin to feel worthy in God's eyes even if they know they have sinned
against Him?
Denise: Repent and turn away. Resist the devil and he will flee. Don't stop talking to God
because of your sins. God is a forgiving God.

GS: This month we are studying "The Power of Words." How can a person's self-esteem be
built up after constantly being torn down my words from others?
Denise: Forgive and ye shall be forgiven. Don't let Satan run the same old tape. Think good
thoughts (Philippians Ch. 4.)

GS: Our ministry is all about empowerment and purity. How can a person who is living a pure
life (free from sex, drugs and/or alcohol) stay that way?
Denise: Fast and Pray. Consecrate your life unto God. Look up the meaning of the word (Consecrate). Study to show YOURSELF approved.

GS: How can a person who has experienced sex, drugs and/or alcohol get back on the right
track and walk in purity?
Denise: Again I must say consecrate your life unto God. Look up and study all scriptures on
Fasting & Praying.

GS: Considering your past celebrity status, what words of wisdom can you share with
someone desiring to be in the entertainment business?
Denise: Don't Do It! God is not into the entertainment business. He is into the winning soul
business. Your entertainment is casting out devils and laying hands on the sick (Mark 3:15).
THAT'S ENTERTAINMENT. Seek ye first the kingdom of God. Our delight should be in
winning souls.

GS: Another thing we are focusing on this month is goal-setting. How can we set goals that are
God-driven and not self-driven?
Denise: Acknowledge God in all your ways. Seek God and He shall direct your path.

GS: What additional words of wisdom can you share that will empower a person to succeed in
life?
Denise: Turn off your TV. It is the golden calf of today. It is idolatrous (1. Thes. 1.9, Revelation
21:7,8,9) American Idol... Idolatry will not enter into the kingdom of God.
Greetings in the name of Jesus! I pray that each and every one of you continue to grow in
Jesus and share His love with this dying world.

With the love of Christ,

Evangelist Denise Matthews

Whenever Denise delivers a message in regards to religion, I can't help but to feel lost in translation.

I love her to death but who would have ever guessed that two of the biggest pervs of the 80s would be two of the biggest religious fanatics of the 21st century? I guess they really were more alike than many of us thought. lol
