Does anyone know when Vanity's book is coming out? I've been waiting forever!

..i've read excerpts from it and i can't tell if it's going to be a bio or a poetry book...
..either way it should be an interesting read when/if it ever comes out...

I hope it's soon. Vanity AKA Denise Matthews well that's my Fucking Female Idol. She will Always be the Most Beautiful Woman in Prince's life. I thought she was Absolutely Awesome as did all of my friends both guys and girls. She was soo Hot and even Shelia wasn't as Hot as her. Does everybody remember 7th Heaven from The Last Dragon? Vanity aka Denise everybody was Screaming in the movie theater when you did that song. Why did you Change and get out of the business? Was it Health related or were you just Fed-Up? Whatever it was someday and I hope your book tells us,but really Denise I was such a fan. You are a Beautiful Woman and Mani is only a Poor Replacement For You! You will Always be the One! However as Vanity that is not as this Religious Spirit! We want Prince back to the time with U! So now you don't wanna do that cause you are older and all and over that. Well, Prince is my Man and I want him Wild Again cause He is that motherfucking Wild Shit,but he be feeling Guilty and this just don't fly well. SometimesI be thinking Damn the Man gone crazy acting Old and not Fucking and Partying and talking shit with Guilt. I be saying Damn he must be going Mad. I don't understand this Garbage well I love the Religion and all,but Damn did my man Become a Preacher or a Priest or Saint? I wanna die! die you hear? Where is my Prince? Where is my Sex God Prince? Where is He? Where is that Sleezy,Gorgeous Fuck Of a Man that you just wanna Devour? Did he go to Sleep? Will he Ever Wake Up? I miss Him. I want Him back! I don't want this New Original Prince. Gotta go Back to that Mysterious Prince and that Sex God! This one's too Different from the Original.He Never had to Change cause he was and is PERFECT! So,I gather this was and is the Prince we Never Saw. But even so no he was more sleezy back then. Well maybe he isn't going back but I'm not changing so if he stays clean I'll never be with him physically cause unless he wants me Sexual and I ain't ever changing well there is no go. I want it the way it was and it should always be. I wanna stay Nasty Always. I'm not becoming a Saint for Anybody or a Nun cause it's no Damn Fun! It's Boring as Hell so let yourself go and have that Giant O!

I think that Vanity is the most beautiful woman who was in Prince's life. Unfortunately, she was heavily into drugs at the same time when Prince was determined to get the Purple Rain movie done.

It think he had to choose between giving his attention to helping his woman overcome her problems or to getting his movie done. He obviously chose his movie over his woman and she fell down so low that she nearly died.

I doubt if Prince and Vanity (Denise) will ever get back together as a couple.

I agree with you 100% Batdance. I think he felt bad about her Drug Problems cause I don't think he would wish bad on anybody. But he had alot of work on that movie and he wasn't a miracle worker. I don't think they'll get together either. That's the past and Denise doesn't want it anymore cause she couldn't handle it. It was too much for her I do believe with all the Temptations of Fame. But She Was the Most Beautiful Woman in Prince's Life. Only other Real Beauty is Carmen. Actually Shelia still looks good also and Mayte well she's changed a bit. She was Hotter than Hot when she was first with Prince. She was so in shape Tight. She isn't the Same.Let's see Mani after Years with Fame and Stress.

well ugly inside. Vanity or Denise had alot more than a drug problem. Insecurity ruled her life. I hope she decides to tell the truth. She had sex with Eddie Murphy while her sister Patricia was dating him. Whom in there right mind would do that to their sister?

Yes, insecurity can effect someone who appears to be outwardly beautiful the same way it can effect someone who considered to be not attractive.

A woman who looks like Denise Matthews is going to get opportunities to succeed that other people just aren't going to get. Her looks opened doors for her that would remain closed to someone who doesn't look as good. Unfortunately, Denise blew the opportunities that came her way by getting too deeply involved in sex, drugs, and rock 'n roll lifestyle.

It remains to be seen just how open and revealing she plans to be in her book.

Denise has been Very Open and it's a Pity she blew the scene but it was the 80's you know. She was Gorgeous no woman in Prince's life came anywhere near her beauty. Too bad about the Drugs and Health Problems. I Think if she was on the scene today she would have been bigger than Big. Jesse Johnson once said she was such a Wonderful woman that gave him Inspiration or something like that. I wanna know what happened that time when she used to go to the AntiQuarius and The Haunted House. What was she into with Prince? What type of Magic?

The publication of Denise's book keeps getting pushed back. That makes me think that the publishers may be having a problem with it. I read some excerpts on her website, and if the excerpts are any indication of what the book will be like, it's not going to sell.

The publishers are probably nudging her to spice it up, get the dirty laundry on her relationships with Rick James, Prince and Nikki Sixx in there. Rick James is also working on a book, so it will be interesting to see what Rick says about Vanity and what Vanity says about Rick. Rick will probably be taking some potshots at Prince in his book.

The last time I saw her on the interview, it looks like her book is going to be trying to 'enlighten' people on the gospel and about not being so 'vain'. She didn't even try to talk about Prince on her own initiative. It was all about her born again experience.

Then again, the woman has gone through some major experiences, and it's sad and uplifting to see where she is at now. It's good to know that she feels about something so strongly enough to write about it. I think it'd be more real if she talk about her past experiences because that's what brought her where she's at today. That's very important. If it doesn't contain any SOLID facts like that, then I'm not even going to bother reading the book. Frankly, I don't even think I care as much.

I think everybody wants her to come clean with the Dirt"Gossip" so to speak. Prince's fans don't wanna hear him Preach honestly I don't think they are gonna wanna hear her. Also,I Honestly don't know how she can Blame Prince for Making Her Wear the Clothes or This or That. I guess she didn't want that IMAGE and that's why she left. Prince made her Known to the World as Vanity. I think she shouldn't diss him 1 little bit . She should have stayed whether he was faithful or not and under whatever circumstances. The movie was Hers and His. He didn't Force her to Consume Drugs after their Breakup either. I just think she should be Fair to him. He got her name on the Planet. What she did Afterward well that was on her...I don't know her or know what happened but in my Opinion she just didn't Love Him Enough! And her Drug Problem was there before Prince I am sure if she was with Rick James..I'm a fan of hers,but Prince will Always come first.

How Vanity can have a successful book:

Her first chapter in the book should be about her history and background, her childhood. How she got into acting and modeling. Chapter 2 should detail her early career and film credits.

Chapter 3 can give an overview of the men in her life, the boyfriends, famous flings, husband, and whoever else she will give details about in later chapters.

Next, up she can serve up some dirt on Rick James. Everybody already knows he spent most of the 80s in drug haze and was arrested on drug and sex assault charges. She could fill up Chapters 4, 5, 6 on her adventures with Rick. Rick has never gone easy on anybody. He is always dogging somebody, so Denise can say whatever she wants about Rick.

Chapters 7 and 8 she can discuss her relationship with Prince and how she came to be named "Vanity." She will have to be careful n the chapter on Prince because he is the most famous of her ex-boyfriends and he is also the one who is likely to alert his lawyers if something is said about him that he wants to keep quiet. She can discuss how they met, the high points and some of the low points of their time together. She can discuss how she is the original leading lady of Purple Rain and why she left the production. Included in the Prince chapters would be the creation and marketing of Vanity 6.

Chapter 9 can feature her take on the Motley Crue boyfriend, Nick Sixx. He didn't go easy on her in his book so she doesn't have to go easy on him in her book.

Chapter 10 can be her post-Prince career, the movies and Motown contract. Chapter 11 will be her spiral down into drugs and severe illness. Chapter 12 can detail her spiritual awakening, finding God, and turning her life around.

If she does a book like the chapters I laid out above, the book will be successful.

Well I just want to read the chapters about her relationship with Prince ...did he really make her walk home during a thunderstorm after they had an arugment when they went to the movies??? and was he really "wild and unhibited in bed" like she said in Blender magazine? God damm it I want the details and see heaps of pics of the two together, cause there is only a few floating around (eg. Rolling Stone cover 83) If not I'd settle on anitdote about her brief fling with Adam Ant whom she hooked up with when she modelling in Japan in the late 70s or her night of passion with Billy Idol prior to her break-up with Prince. Her book has potential to blow other groupie autobiograhies out of the water if done correctly!!! Is that too much to ask????

If she gets an editor who can keep her on track, lay out a formula for her to follow when writing her experiences, the book would be a best seller.

Even though most Prince fans are probably going to want to focus on the Prince chapters, I think that the most scandalous chapters would be the ones about Rick James.

If you ever have the opportunity to hear Vanity, or Denise I should day, give her testimonial you'll know she never disses Prince.

Unfortunately she did in the past. She was Mad about the Image and said He Forced her to wear the Clothes and do what he wanted so she did it to get Paid. That was what she said a long time ago. It sounded like he was a PIMP or something and she was so Mad at him. I found it Ridiculous!She blamed him for her Career as Vanity said it wasn't Her or what she Wanted that she wanted MOTOWN like Diana Ross and that was her Dream not a Vanity Personae. She should have been Happy Prince got her on the MAP! I would Never had said such BULLSHIT about Prince! Maybe it wasn't what she wanted. Well she Left ! I hope Now she doesn't wanna Diss him. Not very many people respect Diana either. She screwed for everything she got and probably screwed over more to keep it. Diana believed that was the way a woman could have power through some man. I guess it depends on what they were doing in the bathroom together. There are many couples who share a bathroom. For example, it wouldn't be a big deal if a husband is in the bathtub taking a bath while his wife is at the sink putting on her makeup.

But if it refers to using the toilet in front of each other, that's another matter. I can't imagine it was very comfortable for her to have a bowel movement or change her tampon with Prince in the bathroom watching...

I didn't mean it like that . Like a 9 1/2 week thing. She said he asked Her to bring him to the bathroom at the AMA awards and she found it quite ODD. She was on Joan Rivers saying that. When she said he wanted to call her Vagina and she said No only if he would call himself???Nobody knows what she said Prick or Penis??? Check out the old videos and you'll see what she said. She was always saying something about him that nobody understood why. Like he Forced her to be Vanity! This I'll never get. I wish somebody Forced me. I'd gladly play that role as would many other woman. Also,Inside Edition was when she talked about this stuff.
