We all have our opinions, and I try to respect each and every one of them. I certainly believe AIDS/HIV was a biological experiment, concocted in some Government laboratory, by some league of twisted scientists attempting to design some form of genetic weaponry that would have the ability to wipe out legions of whomever they designated was "The Enemy". And that as this project approached completion, they needed "lab rats/guinea pigs" to test it's effectiveness out on. So they chose a group that THEY figured the world would be better off without anyway. And there went The Days of Disco, and all things creative!

But things got out of control, as The Evil Geniuses never anticipated that so many of the WORTHY one's were tipping over & getting’ freaky on The Down Low, in assumed undercover mode. But it was too late to fix after the fact, the Monster was already out the box, out of control, and running shit on it’s own, on it’s own terms.

Either way you wrap it, that little virus has certainly caused a whole Hell of a lot of grief in 25 years, and has put a serious damper on the party!

I don’t believe the HIV virus developed itself naturally and just randomly chose 1979 as the point in time it would rear it’s ugly head; it required assistance and refinement. But that's just my little "o".

I agree with your statement somewhat.

I have heard a scenario that seems more likely:

Aids developed from a vaccination attempt gone awry.

In the 70's the scientists were looking for a vaccination for herpes. There was purportedly a certain strain of herpes common in the gay community that was targeted for experimental purposes. At times vaccinations are grown in a medium that is made from monkey species tissue... it seems these mediums made of monkey tissue grows faster therefore the turn around time for experiments is faster. This time, the monkey tissue contain the HIV virus... perfectly harmless to the monkey, but deadly to humans. The test vaccination was given to gay test subjects.. one of them happened to be an flight attendant who became "patient zero"...

I read this scenario in the early 90's. It seems to be the one most plausible to me.
No plot, no conspiracy... just a dumb mistake. Happens every day... look at the doctor that operated on the wrong side of patient's brain.

There's evidence that HIV has been around before the 70's.

also there is a patent number for the HIV "cure".

the plot thickens lol

i'm delighted to learn so much about Denise.
i didn't know she was the original female lead cast in PR
nor that 1/2 the film was made before she walked for a solo career.

her kidney(s) reside in her body.

would you like anyone judging what you choose to do or not do w/your body question
get real or STFU!

Trust me most Christians are aware and respect medical science. I do not think Vainty is the poster child for intelligence so I wish people on this board would stop holding her up as the represenative for all Christians.

She has had a lot of turmoil in her life and that should be taken into consideration.

Anything that you are involved in their are going to be nutbags. One person does not represent all Christians.

I have never heard anyone at my church make those sort of statements. In fact deacons and ministers visit the sick and shut in.

Yeah but visiting the sick doesn't mean you don't believe they do or don't have a lack of faith. This person was a deacon in his church AND always said he was praying for my aunt and uncle.

It was just about his personal belief system.

mimi2, thank you so much for posting this article. It was a very interesting read. I agree with alot of what has been posted. I just think that maybe Denise finds it too difficult to face her past. She talks about it, but only in bits and pieces. I agree with whoever said that taking responsiblity is the key here. It might be easier for her to blame her Vanity persona on her past actions and decisions. This might be why she was going to call the book, 'Blame it on Vanity'.

And I think we all know that people can often turn from one addiction to another, and religion for some may not be an addiction, as so much a way of life. The jury is still out on that one!

I guess all in all, it's good she is physically regaining some kind of health for herself, regardless of the dialysis she has assisting her. I just hope that she has the same mental health and that she is at peace and living in love and harmony, be it alone or sharing her life with a special person or family and friends.

The woman has been through hell and back and is now trying to help others get through hard times the same way she did. I can't be mad at that; no one in their right mind could. I know its "popular" to attack religion these days but it worked for her, so why knock what worked for her? The most important thing is the end, not the means by which one gets there. She's trying to live a better life now and for that, I applaud her.

I so disagree! Vanity may have been the female version of Prince years ago, but Denise isn't now! While Prince talks the religion talk, Denise actually lives it! Denise has changed her life completely since the Vanity days, while although talking the religion talk, Prince is the same old Prince, doing and living the same lifestyle he's always lived.....big difference!

WELL I LOVE DENISE SHE IS A LOVELY PERSON, I HAVE TALKED TO HER THROUGH EMAIL AND PHONE AND SHE IS A KIND AND CARING SOUL. I KNOW THERE IS SUCH THING AS MIRACLE HEALING, I HAVE RECIEVED A HEALING AND ALSO MY AUNT WAS TOLD SHE WOULD NEED ON DIALYSIS THE REST OF HER LIFE BUT THE CHURCH GOT PRAYIN AND SHE RECIEVED A MIRACLE AND DOES NOT NEED DIALYSIS AND HAS BEEN THAT WAY FOR 4 YEARS NOW SO YOU DONT HAVE TO BELIEVE IN MIRACLES BUT THAT DOESNT MEAN THEY DONT EXIST

Some people are so full of hatred toward religion that can't see any positives.

I think they would be happy if she was dead or laying in the gutter.

I know this is off topic but I wanted to share this information with those that are interested because I've lost a lot of friends to this horrible disease. Also, because there's a lot of misinformation out there and people need to know that just because a doctor says or recommends something it is NOT gospel. Doctors are not infallible and should be questioned with reason. This theory also makes me think that there is also a link between autism and childhood vaccines. At this point anything is possible.

I've seen a documentary on the Sundance Film Channel a few times called, "The Origin of AIDS." It came out in 2004 won various awards and has since been somewhat stifled in that the DVD is not available for sale and the company that produced it is not marketing it or making it available to the public.

This movie was the most comprehensive and reasonable explanation I've ever seen for how AIDS came to be. I found a site that allows you to legally download and view the movie.

This is the intro:

While AIDS may be one of the most feared diseases of modern times, there is still a degree of scientific debate over the subject of just how the disease originated, and how the first cases spread. Two filmmakers explore a controversial theory about the beginnings of the disease. In the 1950s, American and Belgian missionaries in the Belgian colonies of the Congo widely distributed polio vaccine to a million children in a bid to wipe out the crippling disease; however, evidence now suggests that Dr. Koprowski's oral vaccine may have been tainted, and that the first instances of the disease may be linked to these inoculations. Using interviews, newsreel footage, and documented research experiments, "The Origin of AIDS" examines how a combination of benevolence, careless lab procedures, and the need of a desperate few to cover their tracks could have led to one of the most serious pandemics of the 20th century.

The film makes a special point to mention how this theory has been shunned by the scientific community and those associated with Dr. Kapowski. Nevertheless the testimony from nurses who worked for the doctor is quite damning.

Here's another interesting link from a journalist,Edward Hooper, who was one of the first people to write about the oral polio vaccine (OPV) hypothesis of origin of AIDS in the early 90s.

thanks for the links.

I can buy this theory as well. It is interesting that my theory and yours both contain a vaccination gone bad involving a virus... I think the truth is close to either one of these theories. I don't think AIDS was a conspiracy to wipe out a race, I don't believe it is a money maker for the medical community... I think someone was sloppy at work and possibly arrogant about handling the vaccination, then passed the buck or cover up when a horrible mistake occured.

I feel sorry for folks when they don't realize that trading drugs for God is nothing more than an addiction transfer. I have never stopped believing in what I call God, and nothing could ever make me stop. Do what you got to do to get right with God, can't get mad at that, but God doesn't come in to your life to replace bad habits.
