We are all human. I have never treated anyone like has prince has done. I would never steal a friend's song and say it was mine. I would never tell my gf/wife NOT to phone me. I would never never tell a women what to wear and do. etc etc. Out of all the artists i know alot about he is one of the worse people. He blatently ignores those that try to speak to him; e.gs elton john, stevie ray vaughan, boy george, pharrell and many normal no celebs
He's only passionate about himself and god.

Mani also had an arrogant, snobbish look to her like "This is my man BITC*" While Mayte always looked fresh, sexy, supportive and welcoming/approachable.

I’m just a sucker for the Prince-Mayte days.

If Prince left Mayte because of the unfortunate death of their child...then that is understandable...b/c there is no pain greater and no one can pass judgment on how another deals with a situation such as this.

On the other hand, if Prince was bored...saw some eye candy and moved on then I am very disappointed. From a fans point of view. its like he traded down. . But who knows their could have been cheating on both ends. Grief, pain and sadness will make you do things that you might later regret.
- But in my heart, I believe it was a mixture of this and more.

Even though we will never know what truly happened its likely the above happened coupled with Prince’s rumored controlling ways. There is a saying that goes “ A caged bird heart dies to be free” . And if this was Mayte then it might be best that they parted.

I still miss those days when I saw them together though.

Personally, I wouldn't judge ANYONE unless I had actually, at least MET them! and spoken to them once. You do not KNOW that Prince is not a nice person. You've read all the literature etc. but it seems to me that a lot of the people in the list above all have some axe to grind, or grudge against Prince. For instance, I read on another post here (from someone's experience first hand) that Michael B is definitely NOT a nice person, and a bit of a low life. Sinead O'Connor (I love some of her music) but she's allegedly completely nuts!! Nona Gaye - isn't she unfortunately out of her head on drugs, or was?

I'm sure in anyone's life if you asked the many people they'd come into contact with along the way, there would be people who would say that you're not a nice person. And there would then be others who would say that you were a very nice person. It's all subjective and has to be put into perspective. We're only hearing one side of the story after all.

I'm sure Prince is stern and a hard task master, but what else would you expect? Also, he's a very shy person (still) although he seems to have improved in that respect over the last few years. This can often come across as being 'aloof' or 'unfriendly', when it may just be lack of social skills and feeling uncomfortable. I think people underestimate how shy he actually is!
