Personally, I wouldn't judge ANYONE unless I had actually, at least MET them! and spoken to them once. You do not KNOW that Prince is not a nice person. You've read all the literature etc. but it seems to me that a lot of the people in the list above all have some axe to grind, or grudge against Prince. For instance, I read on another post here (from someone's experience first hand) that Michael B is definitely NOT a nice person, and a bit of a low life. Sinead O'Connor (I love some of her music) but she's allegedly completely nuts!! Nona Gaye - isn't she unfortunately out of her head on drugs, or was?

I'm sure in anyone's life if you asked the many people they'd come into contact with along the way, there would be people who would say that you're not a nice person. And there would then be others who would say that you were a very nice person. It's all subjective and has to be put into perspective. We're only hearing one side of the story after all.

I'm sure Prince is stern and a hard task master, but what else would you expect? Also, he's a very shy person (still) although he seems to have improved in that respect over the last few years. This can often come across as being 'aloof' or 'unfriendly', when it may just be lack of social skills and feeling uncomfortable. I think people underestimate how shy he actually is!

wrong. I personally know people who have met him and dealt with him

stop worshipping prince
Nona gaye said it wa sthree years of mind games; she was not a complete addict at the time. Sinead o connor is far from nuts. She is very courageous and strong; plus she has always been totally honest.
So his engineer who recorded him for 2 years is wrong? He said Prince treated people like shit. Mayte's minders said he totalled controlled her. Carmen electra's friends said the same thing.
When MULTIPLE independant witnesses say the exact same thing there is pattern that emerges and only a blind fanatic would deny it.

Wendy said that she was sometimes scared of Prince due to his temper. The interview is somewhere on the net. She has no axe to grind and as always been careful what she is saying about him and never really criticised him even though he dropped her and lisa like a hot potato.

I will say no more now. That's it. Let's focus on the art becuase that is beautiful unlike the artist.

sad How can beautiful music and art come from someone who has no heart and isn't beautiful in some way? sad

i dont think hes a "bad person" at all. but its true sum ppl are maybe focusing on the side of him thats this little cosmic spiritual man whos sensitive and passionate.which he is.....but hes human just like anyone else and his not so nice side is documented in many books and ppl's personal accounts.[/quote]

Please wake up and smell the bs.

We are all human. I have never treated anyone like has prince has done. I would never steal a friend's song and say it was mine. I would never tell my gf/wife NOT to phone me. I would never never tell a women what to wear and do. etc etc. Out of all the artists i know alot about he is one of the worse people. He blatently ignores those that try to speak to him; e.gs elton john, stevie ray vaughan, boy george, pharrell and many normal no celebs
He's only passionate about himself and god.

I know people who have met him. He is not nice! Just as MANY people who worked/ been involved with him have said including andre cymone, w &l, his engineers, michael b, morris day, jesse johnson, mika, sinead o connor, nona gaye, ex managers, bodyguards, publicist and so on.

I am not hating on Prince; just being honest. I have read evry bio, interview and litrature on him as well as knowing people who have met him. The picture painted is not pretty.

I respect people more for who they are than how successful or talented they are.

My personal philsophy is: how one treats waitstaff, housekeepers, service people, etc. says more about one's character, than any other interactions.
Politeness and civility should dictate behavior.
I read on one website, the restaurant staff weren't allowed to make "eye contact" with Prince, when he ate there. If I owned the place, I'd make sure of it, by banning him. He could eat someplace else, where abuse of employees is tolerated.

i don't think any man or woman could sit through that interview and have a straight face no matter how much u may love that person. do ya think she used 2 curse him out in spanish or german? falloff and prince would have had that xpression 4 the kiss video when she did

That's funny, I read a post recently from a couple who met him as he walked through the adjoining bar to the aftershow in London. He stopped and chatted to the bar staff, and to the couple. Apparently he was really friendly and down to earth! Maybe he behaves differently when he's in the UK????? Stories, stories....

If it really is shyness, then it isn't rudeness, right?
It would only appear that way. Anyway, the eye contact one isn't so bad. It's kind of funny and weird but it's not rude. Especially, if that's the only way he felt he could be comfortable while eating.

telling your minders TO TELL all the staff NOT to look at you is arrogant, rude and down right obsurd. Obviously nobody wants strangers staring at them

In many cases, it IS what/how you communicate that's important, regardless of motive...like when someone else is directly impacted.
But in the case of not having someone watch you eat, wouldn't motive determine if it was actually arrogance? If it's because you're shy, then it's because you're shy. No one was harmed in that one.

I don't know any of the Prince stories, outside of what is posted here, so I couldn't say, and I haven't seen the interviews mentioned and don't know the details of the pregnant woman. If it's as simple as that, it would be wrong, though.

Hmmm.... hmmm Im thinking I would have to see the WHOLE story on the pregnant woman because I've been pregnant b4 and never fell asleep on the job. Yes, u are more tierd when ur pregnant but u know ur on the job..and get it done "GET R' DUN!". giggle

I would look down on Prince if he fired or yelled at her for putting her swollen feet up or had to go to the bathroom many times b/c the baby pressing against her bladder. But if she is falling asleep on the job?? Um, thats reason to fire ANYBODY from a job they are not doing.

Now if she was diebetic and pregnant and didnt get insulin or enough sugar...okay. But if she's just pregnant...c'mon..woman have had babies in the fields still workin the crops until there water broke. lol

All Im sayin is with that 1 I would have to hear the entire story. smile

That fascinated me beyond belief, and I kept scratching my head and saying to myself, "Is she seeing the same person I see when we look at his pictures? confuse. One-Who-Must-Remain-Unmentioned from his own mouth answered in an indirect way that the baby was fine... when in fact the baby was dead. On the other hand Mayte around that same time did actually acknowledge that their son was gone; and that they missed their little boy and someday welcome more children. (can't remember the exact wording).

So when One-Who-Must-Remain-Unmentioned was gave interviews to Oprah, and in particular the Gumble interview... (which I was actually referring to),
One-Who-Must-Remain-Unmentioned did all the talking/lying while Mayte sat there with a smile frozen on her face... when her heart had to be breaking.

I don't fault One-Who-Must-Remain-Unmentioned, but I do have deep sympathy for Mayte in that situation.

Why do you think having sympathy for Mayte mean automatic criticism for
One-Who-Must-Remain-Unmentioned?

The website I was referring to, is Bitterwaitress. This was about a year ago, and the site has changed.
The woman posting, was disgusted. The food had to be handed to a bodyguard, who then put it on the table, besides the "no eye contact" rule.
I trust the judgement of the waitstaff, who have a sense of when they're treated poorly.
It's easy for some with power, fame, $$$, to disregard others.

I think I vaguely remember something like this, posted here. It was different, though. This one seems a bit more innocent. Since Prince wasn't to be in direct contact with anyone, he should have instructed his staff to be extra nice in their dealings. Maybe they took his need for privacy to heart...the way that rent-a-cops do. That could be what the waitstaff was feeling. I'm not making excuses because they're his employees so he should instruct them to be nice...especially at times that he's not up to socializing. It's so much better to be nice to people.

Maybe Im in left field somewhere but what did Prince say in that interview that was so hurtful to Mayte? sad
I missed that 1. confused

Why do you think having sympathy for Mayte mean automatic criticism for
One-Who-Must-Remain-Unmentioned?

sigh Mayte has said in an interview since, that they were both in denial. The Oprah i/v was only a week after the baby's death, (which Mayte enouraged Prince to continue with) and P had convinced himself that the baby's soul would come back etc. He didn't want to talk about it. I wish everyone would be more understanding on this subject. As I've said in another post, hopefully none of us have experienced anything like this, because who knows how we would react in such heartbreaking and devasting circumstances. There can't be anything much worse. Rant over wink

telling your minders TO TELL all the staff NOT to look at you is arrogant, rude and down right obsurd. Obviously nobody wants strangers staring at them

Prince once fired a pregnant lady at paisley park for falling asleep

Hmmm.... hmmm Im thinking I would have to see the WHOLE story on the pregnant woman because I've been pregnant b4 and never fell asleep on the job.

But if she's just pregnant...c'mon..woman have had babies in the fields still workin the crops until there water broke. lol

All Im sayin is with that 1 I would have to hear the entire story. smile

Yeah, say she was 'security' or something... that's not acceptable.... just saying.... don't know the circumstances!

BTW Help! I need some back up in this place..... lol
