And on another note - Tommy Lee seems like a pretty nice guy. Sure, he's got the rockstar life style but I saw a lot of that "Tommy goes to College" series and he seemed pretty geniune and he really wanted to do well and get good marks. I dunno, he seemed nice. I don't think he'd feel the need to pick out my clothes somehow

She is BEAUTIFUL and I thought they made a wonderful couple.

He was very controlling of her and didn't even let her ring him. Even ajournalist who interviewed prince int he 90's vouched for this as Prince was picking out mayte's clothes in the room and telling her what to wear.

GOtta say, I totally disagree with all the Mayte v. Mani stuff here (and from what remember of posts during the Mani era, I'm not alone): I don't really give a flying roast chicken who he's with, but I found Mayte to come across as artificial and staged, and all those pix above described as "relaxed" and "natural" look completely manufactured to me, whereas with Mani it appeared muchmore down-to-earth and real.
But whatever, maybe it's all a question of what P and his image-makers wanted to convey. It's not very significant.
The real question is, was Fury about Mani or Mayte,neither or both?

And, more important;y: how come Wasted Kisses was on NPS, but then there was the vid for The One with Mayte? Was the vid made before the album was put together? Languebleu? ANyone? Bueller?

The superficiality of all of it is a shame...Unconditional love hasn't been a thread in Prince's life. No-one is to blame, yet it is obvious that when u are addicted to your famous atmosphere....let me stress addiction....because I don't believe this about every musician or person in the public eye, or even the standard citizen....
It is a shame that someone beautiful, sacrifices little. It goes to show that the shallow human being is what is underneathe the pretty clothes and the beautiful mansions....very sad.

But do we know anything for sure? I find all these stories very suggestive and I take all these stories about them girls not being allowed to call him or that he picked out their clothes with a HUGE grain of salt.

I would believe better that he is too demanding and very focused on his work. He probably would get heated up faster on stage than in bed.
How are you going to organize your day when he has a complete different agenda and a complete different working system of mind and body from us "normal" people.
The 4-5 hours of sleep, the going to bed late, the little eating, the constantly thinking about music and recording it. I really think he would get so impatient with any one of us being lazy, sitting behind the computer for hours, wanting to do other things than he is interested in. That is also a good reason for normal people to get divorced
How about the opportunity to meet gorgeous women who want to be with you. Being away from home a lot.

He lives in a very protected world. I don't think he has to do or see anything he doesn't want to. Something emotional happening probably scares the crap out of him. Would he know how to handle that? He invested all his time and knowledge in music and religion.

I would think, now, that he's getting older he is more quite and at ease. I think a decent girl would have the most chance to share her life with him. I think he's able to enjoy normal things and for a longer period. He's getting older and older and he realizes with every day that music one day will move to the 2nd place and that company is more important. I don't think he likes to be alone. Maybe he's that religious, to have something to hold on to?
