I liked the book as well. Gave some good insight on why he left the band.

The 2 CD set is almost worth the purchase price just for the full version of "Modernaire". As for the rest of the songs, well...let's just say there's a reason no one ever gave Dez a record deal.

yeah.....there IS a reason. Because everyone in the "industry" wanted dez 2 B JUST like Prince!!!! AND HE WASN'T!!!!! I give him MAJOR props for that!!!! Listening to the "original" version of "After Hi School" (which got put on the Time's 1st LP), I could EASILY hear THAT on the soundtrack to "Ridgemont High" or "Valley Girl".....and that's not a bad thing!!!!! the "industry" did the same thing to Andre Cymone as well. It wasn't until "Dance Electric" (Prince song) that the industry respected him. His albums weren't "Prince enough" for the "industry". Of course Andre got the last laugh producing the first 2 "mega" LP/CD's for Jody Watley!!!!! the book & the CD's are THE TRUTH!!!!!

Dez's book is well written and a fun read. He's insightful, and presents a great first-hand document of a very important and formative era in Prince's career and life. Anyone that enjoys reading and is a Prince fan should check it out.

I don't want to remember the 8 months of unanswered or delaying emails (including from Dez himself), and the cd case arriving without the cds and then another few months of apologies and 'it'll be shipped latest next Tuesday' style crap.
And I rarely listen to any of it.

Which is pretty much what happened with my copy of 'The Vault'. What's the matter with these people? They charge enough.

And I rarely listen to any of it. Rarely listen? I just sent you an org note. Are you planning on keeping it? I have my copy. I loved every minute of it!
It's a great addition to any Prince fan's collection. "Pedro offers you his protection."
