Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

Her last 2 sales had some great stuff... I'll be there bright and early -- always down to support Sheila and the foundation.

Yes, Van Nuys is near Hollywood. I would go if I didn't have to work.

Fist time I picked up a couple of autographed snare drums, a setlist with notes from the mini Sex Cymbal tour, and some boots that really looked like they were designed for Prince... Second sale I scored some of her fathers artwork and some bongos... All the items were reasonably priced and Sheila & Lynn were sweet as always.

What really bothers me about Sheila's website is that they don't mention anything until the very last minute or after the fact. How are we suppose to know. I'm in New York and just came from the Minniapolis show.. it is not fair..I'm going to send an email to the website.. I'm sure some of these items are going to the eBay sharks...

I've been to them before. sometimes there are some fun things to nab. Goes to a good cause too.

Van Nuys is near NORTH Hollywood, not really near Hollywood.... well, I guess it is about 20 mins. from Hollywood if you want to be technical! lol

Well did anybody go???

Did you try to talk-her-down on stuff? One time, I had a garage sale and had this lady put, like, ten things in a box. She brought me the box and said something like, "Would you take $20 for this whole box?" I was like WTF?!?! Try that at Sheila's!

I went during my lunch break. Lots of clothes & shoes... nothing really of note. Didn't buy anything. A lady said all the 'guy' stuff went earlier in the day. Don't think Sheila was there. BUT I saw a light skinned lady w/glasses, nice body, pretty face, that could've been her. But she seemed so busy and i didn't want to act like a crazed fan and ask if it was her.

HELLO!!!! I dropped my plans and went. Shiela was there and shook my hand and was very sweet. There were a lot of clothes and I looked though them all. I bought a few little things (some shiela shirts and etc.) but it was just like any garage sale, except it involved the fab. Ms. E!

I went also we got there just before 9am. She had 1 big box that said Dont ask 2 see unless you have some mula Ohhhh would'nt u like 2 know. So we asked her if we could see and she gave us this sneaky grin it was so cute, She was selling her fur coats from The Glamourous Life, Bunch of outfits from Sign Of The Times Tour, A bunch of Prince clothing,It was so cool 2 see. I bought a pair of P's Pants for $150 Bucks I could'nt resist, 2 of her hats, pair of her drum sticks, tee shirts and her pass to the Purple Rain Set, That was really hard for her to give up, saying it was all for charity. She then autographed everthing And took our picture and our names for her website. She was so cool and sweet, we then drove away bumping The Glamourous Life and she waved bye...

Sorry if this is long in advance!!!!!

My boyfriend and I went to the sale. We got there about 1pm and stayed way to long lol we left at about 4:30. Everyone was nothing but nice to us especially Lynn and Sheila what a great group of people. I wound up buying a few of Sheila’s old shirts. A Lionel Richie tour sweatshirt, sign o the times sweatshirt, lovesexy sweatshirt and a yamaha sweatshirt, and a shirt with Sheila on it shirt from 1986. My boyfriend got a red Michael Jackson looking beat it jacket with the zippers and all that. Sheila said it was her jacket from the Lionel Richie tour. Its so funny we got it for 5 bucks and Sheila was like I will give you 10 to give it back. I did also get the monster of purchases I bought an old timbale kit that belonged to Sheila. She personalized all the items that we bought. I would have to say funny moment for me was I was asking someone about the kit because I want to play it not just set it out and look at it so I'm like I just want to make sure this is a really good kit to practice and play on well I didn’t know Sheila was standing next to me and she turns around and play smacks me in the arm like a mom would do and is like OF COURSE its a good kit its my old set. I felt so small at that point, but I know she didn’t take it to heart what I said. I also asked her about the best sticks to use and she basically just told me get the ones that feel comfortable to me. Great she didn’t try to influence the decision by what SHE uses. After browsing through all the clothes and other goodies we were finally introduced to the vault as they were calling it. The big expensive boxes that your not to look in unless you got lots of muhla. What cool stuff was in there as someone said above a bunch of Sheila’s furs and stage clothes. Some of Prince clothes. First when we were looking we were just being shown the Prince shirts and pants and they said it couldn’t be touched finally they let my boyfriend try on some of Princes shirts. My boyfriend is really small so most of the shirts fit. He tried on one of the suit jackets and it was to small across the shoulders and Sheila was like you look like Herman Munster. That was really funny. We were almost sold on an orange shirt the Prince wore but wound up passing on it. Sheila kept joking that if we didn’t buy it she would be wearing it. Another item we were almost sold on were a pair of Princes pants from the sign o the times tour. My boyfriend was convinced he could fit them and had to prove this by showing Sheila his waist line. She was laughing saying yep I think you can fit them. Needless to say we didn’t buy those either, but sure had fun eek “going through Princes closet” eek . We finally wound up leaving because there wasn’t anyone coming anymore and they were starting to put all the items away. In all it was a pretty fun and really great that it was for a good cause. It was really great to see Sheila stuck it out the entire time even though it was crazy hot yesterday. Really look forward to going again next year if it happens again.

(I am now starting to wonder did we wind up looking like two geeks there all that time or maybe they were just happy to see to young people out living some history and supporting a good cause. The world may never know
