I try not to diss my brothas who are caught up. Its something taught and reinforced over and over. I think certain areas are worse than others. I know that I've only dated one man from Indy and he doesn't even live here anymore.
Most men that find me attractive generally arent from here. I actually get move love from white men. You just have to be cool in your own skin and keep it moving.

My daughter, who is light skinned, sits on the other side of the fence. She said she has to check the ones that always reference to her "light skinness".

Its funny because as a child, she used to long for darker skin because of me and my mom being darker but I taught her that she's beautiful with her yella ass.

And as far as Susan Moonsie being from Trinidad or wherever.....I remember having this same conversation with a Mexican friend about whether or not Sammy Sosa was black. She was adamant that he was not black, but Latino. I told her that Sosa is a black man with a Spanish accent, like I'm a black woman with an American accent. Our ancestors got scooped up from the same place, they just ended up on different boats. There were actually more Africans taken to Brazil than to north America, however many choose not to identify themselves as black, whereas in north America, most folks that have any amount of African blood will identify themselves as black. I don't care what part of Latin America Susan Moonsie is from, she is still black and always looked like a "traditional african-american" to me....whatever that means.
