Yes, she has a (Canadian) degree in Law & Sociology; not a law degree.
I read an article about her a while back that explained that that's not the equivalent of a "law degree" here in the US; she is not a lawyer and cannot be a one with just that degree
~ even if it were, it would only apply to where she lived in Canada; like in the US, if you get a law degree and pass the bar, it's only good for the state you took the bar exam in
Her degree is, according to the article, more for social work (and knowing the laws pertaining to that [in Canada]) --- which is a great degree to have for all the charity stuff she does (which is pretty cool).

The laws here are probably a bit different -- I wonder if she had to take any courses here to learn American laws in regards to social work/child welfare.. and/or if she had to get dual citizenship..

Halle probably concocted that story to save face. Although I don't condone anyone cheating on their spouse, Ms. Berry seems like she's not wrapped to tight, so regardless of how gorgeous she is, her looks are not obviously enough to keep her men from straying.
