Holy Crap! I was just going thru some threads and after I read the "Mayte" ones I thought, "I never bought her CD", so I quickly logged on to Amazon to see if I could pick up a used copy- just for collection purposes. There was one- USED- for $69.00!!!! 
Okay... no. I had no intentions of playing it anyway!

Yeah I just saw that one on Amazon. Ridiculous!
But on a lighter note, I actually liked her version of Love U 2Night.  If u and I were just ten feet closer, then I'd make u understand

Holy Crap is right! I never would've thought that would be worth anything...now I'm glad I have it! (note to self....sell Mayte CD to highest bidder next time I need some cash)....  Ask where they're going, they'll tell U – "Nowhere"

Never understood the harsh criticism for that album, it ain´t that bad...Prince has produced albums that were much worseduring his heyday. This little gem contains Ain´t No Place Like U, However Much U Want, If I Love U 2nite, In Ur Gracious Name, among other nice tracks. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?" | |

I've never heard it. A friend of mine has it, but I never got around to listening to it. I just got the "expansion bug" over the last couple of weeks and I've been trolling around small local record shops and online for missing items to add to my collection. $69.00 just hurt my feelings is all.... Just because some weirdo asks $69 for it, doesn't mean it's worth it. I've seen some guy trying to sell the Hornheads selftitled album on Ebay for over $250 while you can still buy it new at Cdbaby for $15. [Edited 3/8/07 3:58am] | |

Folks , the Mayte album isn´t really that bad, there are some gems on it.He should revisit some of those songs and re-release them on his own albums. There are a lot worse, I must say. Couple of good tracks on there, and I do like her version if If I love U 2nite - but doesn't anybody else think she sounds EXACTLY like Kylie in the chorus? | |

Yeah, the album isn't actually all that bad from what I remember. It's just that she, well, can't sing. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.
