Jerome has left The Time?

In the posting for The Family reunion, it casually mentioned (and St. Paul's manager confirmed) that Jerome has left The Time? WHAT? Morris should shut it down if that is the case. It sounds like it is basically Morris, Jellybean and Monte and some scab labor they hired to replace the greatness that is/was the soul of The Time.

Morris should end The Time. Half of the fun was Jerome and the way he interacted with Morris. Without that, it is basically a Morris Day show.

Has anyone seen them without Jerome?
The expanded version of my book PRINCE and The Purple Rain Era Studio Sessions 1983-1984 was released in November 2018. (www.amazon.com/gp/product/1538114623/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i0) or www.facebook.com/groups/1...104195943/

I haven't seen them without Jerome and probably won't. It ain't The Time without Jerome.

There was a thread about it here a couple weeks ago.

Jerome was even with Morris during some of hi solo work. People expecgt to see them together. I suppose though, that Morris could just hire another hype man, name him Jerome and the show could go on...

I saw the show last night, and while the band was tight as always and Morris was sharp, we did miss Jerome. Hopefully he will be back in the near future

Is he releasing that long awaited solo album on A and M?

The first single is: "Am I holding the mirror straight?"

But seriously folks, he and Morris have that chemistry that will be missed.

My high school history teacher always said...

"change isn't strange, but it's painful"

and although I will miss Jerome running around at Time shows and "The Time" will never, and I mean never be the same, we need to wish him well and know that he's gonna be alright..

The Family is a great start to what should be a fantastic 2007 for Mr. Benton !!!

Blessings to you Jerome wink

Did Jerome ever Sing or play any instruments? It would be interesting to see if he got paid as much as the rest of the time members.

He (supposedly) plays the 1 electronic drum pad which he tol dme is hooked up to "grand claps", but I never could hear the clap in sync with his tapping it with the drumstick.

Last time I saw the Time, Morris sometimes went over to it and hit it a few times in succession and you could hear the rat-tat-tat of the Claps.

BTW, when I asked Jerome he was nice and said the pad is hooked up to "Grand claps" and that "it's a Prince thannng." smile
