I was doing some browsing for old R&B songs on the web because I was feeling a little nostalgic for the old school days when I came across this little bit of info on Vanity six's Susan Moonsie. According to Wikipedia she was Prince's highschool girlfriend but it also stated that she was dating a member of the time before Prince. She was Prince's inspiration for the song Private Joy and When doves cry. She married an actor named David Garfield son of John Garfield. So if Prince expert knows any more details I think it would be interesting to know.

I think that Susan is so pretty. I know that Vanity gets all the attention but you only have to watch Drive Me Wild to appreciate Susan.

There are no photos of just her around that I've seen, she doesn't have her own section in the gallery.

I would so love to see Prince do a show like was on one thos cable music stations where they talk about the inspirations behind the songs, what it called story tellers?

Susan was also the inspiration for When Doves Cry.

She was married to some guy who died in the late '80's or early '90's. She obviously doesn't want her business in the streets though.

He questions why the two of them scream at each other, comparing their screams to the sound of doves crying. The dove is, of course, a symbol of peace as well as a symbol of the spirit of God. The image is one of something beautiful in pain; something which is such a symbol of everything good and peaceful that its agony is especially tragic. The song was inspired by Susan Moonsie. Although they were no longer a couple, Prince wanted her around.
