After Hi School

Hey Guys,

Have any of you ever heard the song "After Hi School" by The Time (1981)?... I've never been a big critic (as far as negativity; only when it's sorely deserved)... Love all Prince, but on this one I'd have to say if there is any one song that a Prince associate/protoge ever took over and should not have, it is this one. This song has Prince all over it. The Time doesn't sound right doing it. They're too Soul. Also, this sounds like something that could have been a b-side to something on Dirty Mind... or maybe even Controversy.

What do you all think? Also, anybody else got any other good examples of songs that that Prince associates/Protege's ended up doing that you wish Prince wouldda just done himself?

I love Jill's version, but I really would've loved for Prince to keep 'All Day, All Night' for himself (maybe a b-side) with Lisa's "Ich liebe dich, ich liebe dich" part love

Yes, Jill´s version is great but this should´ve been released by Prince himself.

Other songs that fall into that category are:

The Dance Electric

Mutiny

100 MPH

Noon Rendezvous ( Sheila´s version is nice but I LOVE the 14 minute rehearsal version with Prince singing this beautiful song)

Nothing Compares 2 U

The Screams of Passion

and probably a dozen more.

He should revisit those songs and release an album with his own original version. The only thing I´d be concerned about would be if he drastically changed or modernized the already great songs.

And while he´s at it he could also put the old We Can Funk version on this album of lost gems.
" I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

This is a great song by Dez and I think Morris did a good job with the vocals. It was a good song to add to this album. It's actually two British bands in this song. The Rolling Stones and The Who. Towards the end with the "Hey you! Hey you!" is from the Stones "Hey You! Get Off Of My Cloud!" And the final power chords of this song is straight up vintage Pete from The Who.
