There's a 2-CD special edition of Eroica??? WOW! I didn't know that... I want that! What's on the second disc? How could I get a copy of that?

Four Lisa Coleman piano improvs. It's yummy. You'd have to find it used, though - this is long since out of print.

Indeed. But I would have liked "I'm leaving the Problem" as a bonus track. Maybe they have let go the bitterness.

Oh, "Balance". Maybe if they reissue "Eroica" they'll choose that one - I think it was the B-Side for "Don't Try to Tell Me," wasn't it? Nice, nice track.

U should really hunt out Eroica (1991?) some classic W&L. I love PorchSwing and their masterpiece GirlBros (1998?) a bit haunting in places as its influenced by the death of Wendy's brother Johnathan but still some W&L at their best - Reaching One, I've got a big bowl of cherries...

Just wish U girls would release something new - as W&L, Girlbros, Pacifico, whatever!!!!

I feel your pain but they are too busy doing their scoring gigs especially doing scoring for both Crossing Jordan and Heroes and doing an album isn't one of their main priorities.

And, I feel THEIR pain, but gorrrammit I'd like a new album more than every 8 years!!!

Well, you can still find Girl Bros. on CD directly from GirlBros.net - W&L's site.

Great News!

Of course I'm gonna be a big ol sourpuss and say they should have also included "Stones and Birth" and "Balance" nod

Someone mentioned the Eroica bonus piano disc (from Lisa) and that is definitely something to look for too. On a side note; Anyone who has the Prince & The Revolution "Dream Factory" boots (especially the Remastered Sab one) will notice that the song "Visions" is actually "minneapolis #1" from the Eroica bonus piano disc. cool

Why include 'Eroica' b-sides on the albums before 'Eroica'? That doesn't make any sense to me.

I already have the original U.S. CDs so if these aren't remastered then I'll probably pass them by. I also have all the extra tracks included plus more (no Prince remix of "Lolly Lolly"?) so it isn't that much of an incentive for me.

Yeah thanks for pointing that out. I realised after I wrote it that those were Eroica b-sides. Oh well, shoot me.

Huge Wendy & Lisa fan here. Can't wait for these. I have the 1st CD but not Fruit at the Bottom, which I had but lost at somepoint. Both are such good albums that deserve better attention than they got. Also, Eroica imo is their best followed closely by Girls Bros and the 1st album. Fruit sounded too forced imo but its still extremely good. Special mention to Friendly Fire...damn I wish they released that for real. There are some real gems on there.

I thought Balance was a B-side off their first album. Maybe you told me it was at the time you played it for me. It sure fits into the theme of that album at least if you think they were talking about Prince. Well crap, if it IS a B-Side to Eroica that changes everything I thought about the song.

Wendy and Lisa are scoring the theme music for the TV show "Heroes". I wonder if that has caused a renewal of interest? It's one of the most-watched TV shows right now.

I have to say, there theme music kinda sounds alike (kinda like Danny Elfman's does). Having said that, it does sound good.

The scoring in Heroes is very good. Way better than Jerhico...music so bad it ruins the show for me.

Let us know what you think. I for one would be curious to know as I love these two albums and think that some of the tracks have managed to stand the test of time. But that could well be my rose tinted "I bought both albums on the day of their release and saw W&L play in London and loved them, especially as they played Mountains, my all time fave Prince track" specs smile

Is it because that they was on a different record company when they did Eroica and the re-issues are both from their first record company Columbia. I think they was on Virgin with Eroica. I wondered when and if Eroica ever is going to be re-issue too.
