Clerks 2 Soundtrack - Sheila E replaced by Samantha Fox Thought you all might get a kick outta this.
I just got the soundtrack to the Clerks 2 Soundtrack and inside Kevin talks about all the tracks and why they were chosen ect. There is an "inter-species erotica" scene (LOL) and the song used is Samantha Fox's "Naughty Girls Need Love To" - the orriginal music for that scene was Sheila E's "A Love Bizare" Here is the liner notes from the CD about it... "Samantha Fox is such a wild dame, but "Naughty Girls (Need Love Too)" didn't become the donkey show anthem until I was in the editing room. When you watch that footage in the flick, try to imagine Sheila E's "Love Bizarre" as the accompaning track instead, and you'll know what the set sounded like over the three days we shot the sequence. The donkey (Asphalt; isn't that cute?) found the music oddly soothing, so the song was kept on a loop whenver she was inside Mooby's. But once I started cutting the scene together, the Sexy Stud gyrating to "Love Bizarre" didn't capture the same irony as a seductive dance to "Naughty Girls" did. That the heavy Full Force beat made it easy to cut to as well was just my type of hype" - Kevin Smith, Clerks 2 Soundtrack liner notes. Interestingly enuff Morris Day and The Time appeared and performed "Jungle Love" in Jay and Silent Bob Strikes Back, and Smith also tried to get Prince to allow him to use "The Most Beautiful Girl In The World" for the same flick, Prince denied the request, and they used Bon Jovi's "Bad Medicine" instead. That story can be heard as well as the hallarious Rainbow Children Documentary comments by Kevin Smith on his Evening With Kevin Smith DVD.. Anyways, just thought you'd get a kick outta the almost inclusion of "Love Bizarre" | |
