J7,

I do not want to argue with you about the truth, and I still believe that only Prince and Tamar know what type of relationship they had.,and for those that say that she does not look like some one who can reck a home. How does a home recker look? Why have you people not given Mani the benefit of a doubt, Why did some of you insisted that she had something to do with the break up of his first marriage. Where you there?, Did Prince confirm that to you. I am not accusing Tamar of any thing, as it is not my business to do that. It is very dangerous to judge on speculation so we should all take a deep breath and let God do the best for all cocern.

Regardless, business is business. Any wife should understand if she marries someone like Prince that he will be doing business and spending time with other artists, female or male, especially if there's promotion issues involved. Tamar and Prince probabley parted ways professionally, because they both probably felt with all the rumors going on it would affect her career, and people started pointing fingers at Tamar because of his divorce. Meanwhile I don't believe she had anything to do with it. If Tamar was a guy and Prince was promoting him, I'm sure Mani might have felt the same way that he was spending a lot of time with other musicians or friends and not her. Fact is if you're going to marry someone like Prince then be strong enough and secure with yourself,to handle all that goes with the package.

It was never a secret that Prince is a famous artist. So really, I don't think Tamar was the blame for the divorce. I feel her name was thrown out there as the reason for the divorce by a jealous and insecure wife to hurt Tamar because Mani knew her marriage was already in trouble, and knew by stating that publicly, that she could hurt Prince by trying to ruin Tamar's career, since she felt he was not spending enough time with her and the marriage was already in trouble. So this is how Tamar got caught up in the middle of all this. This is just the way I see it,because it's so obvious.

This is not to talk about Mani in a mean way, but I believe it is just hard being married to a musician/artist as famous as Prince and knowing that many times he will be away from home, but she should have thought about that before she stalked his ass when he was married, karma is a bitch ain't it? wink

lol

i must admit im not sold on tamar being the reason for the divorce...insecurity lead on by prince's infatuation? possibly...but tamar just doesnt seem like the type of girl who would wreck a home...

I swear I just realized my statement above sounded like a script for a soap opera and the ending would be "Only they know, only Prince and Mani and Tamar knows" biggrin

I found this posted on Housequake.com today by Jseven, when he was asked if Támar was present at the post-Emmys bash:
"As I have stated b4 but was ignored, Tamar and Prince have parted ways."
Later in the same thread:
It is not my business 2 tell yet about Tamar. I am not trying 2 keep anything from u all. It just is kinda personal 4 her. U try getting dropped from a mentor and a record deal."
So I guess this means Támar's album will never be released neutral

jseven, you speak the truth as usual. Every door that closes, another one opens. Tell Tamar to stay encouraged, hold her head high and keep the faith.

Alas, such words of truth did nothing to help

Jill Jones
Taja Sevelle
Ingrid Chavez
etc.
etc.
etc.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again:

After nearly three decades of evidence to the contrary, it seems extremely naive for anyone with talent to think of Prince as their golden ticket. Paisley Park is where budding talent goes to die.

I think Sheila E. is the only exception. Except that she really wasn't "budding talent"; she had it going on before she met Prince. He just kind of introduced her to the world in a big way.

That's just sad about Tamar. sad

Does anyone seriously think Prince would give up one of his two song slots on "Saturday Night Live" to Tamar, and personally announce the release date for her CD on said national TV show, if he did NOT believe the CD would get released?

Prince has not have called me on the phone so this is only MY opinion, but logic screams that the pulling of the Tamar CD was not Prince's decision. (And please don't tell me Prince isn't logical. He is EXTREMELY logical and smart.)

LOL, generally, people who say Prince isn't logical are people who are upset with the songs that were picked for single release.

One cannot last 25+ years in the music business, sell hundreds of millions of albums, and rule the music world in three (well, two-and-a-half) different decades without having a LITTLE something on the ball.

P's success hasn't been because of dumb luck...

Thank you RodeoSchro. Some of these geniuses on the org kill me. They make Prince out to be an idiot with no business acumen because he doesn't choreograph his career to their beats. He's the living legend and they are novices who log on to a fan site devoted to him just to call him stupid. That is sooooo logical to me.

If they have parted ways, I don't think that's such a bad thing. She needs some space from him to be truly appreciated for the great singer/songwriter that she is. Being so new in the industry, who wants all the crap associated with being a Prince protege? I know I wouldn't...

ahhh...so changing your name to symbol? refering your career to slavery? releasing albums and then dropping any promotion? concentrating on non-talented hacks while greater talents get ignored? asking for camels in mnpls at 2am?

those are all things that a bussiness savy person does, ehh?

Yeah, but at the end of the day if he announces he's having a concert, those who criticize him the most will be knocking down doors to get to his show. So as far as any opinion considered negative about him, I wouldn't worry about it, people are going to say how they feel aobut him anyway, that can't be stopped, because even he knows those same persons will be the first ones running to get tickets and whining and b***** if they can't get in to the show, even Prince knows, really, he knows. lol lol

im going to agree with you here...but why label it negative? its just folks sharing their view...i sited numerous examples of why folks would consider prince as not being very business savy...does that make everyone else's opinion wrong? no...its just me voicing my perspective...

folks be taking this shit way to personal...this site isnt npgmc...differing perspectives are encouraged here..

My post says nothing about ignoring me, but since you've interpreted it that way, please oblige. Better yet, don't oblige. From this point on, I have nothing else to say to you, even on your next bait attempt. You see, you like to bait people, hide your hand and cry foul.

LORD HAVE MERCYYYYY THIS TOPIC'S ON FIRE!

Who knows. Who cares. Many people have walked away from him- Vanity, Apollonia, Jimmy & Terry, St. Paul, the list goes on... BLAH BLAH BLAH.

My question is this: why is so important Prince "make" anyone's friggin career?
People should make their own damn careers and not rely on other peeps.

TAMAR: girl you better get out form that umbrella fast or you'll be yesterday's news.

Let me put it like this: Tamar was dropped from the label & the album will not be coming out not because of any hanky panky, but because it was a business decision. We all know the man gets bored very quickly and keeps it moving, but I know 4 a fact it's not due to a personal relationship between the 2.
Get up, come on, let's do something...

I heard that Universal hated the album all along...they didn't think it had any "hits" on it...but couldn't Prince still find another way to release it? What happended to his independent label NPG Records??
