Mayte Garcia has booked a role in CHARLIE WILSON'S WAR opposite Tom Hanks, Julia Roberts, and Phillip Seymour Hoffman for Universal and Hanks'shingle Playtone Prods. Mike Nichols is directing and Aaron Sorkin penned the script, which was based on the book "Charlie Wilson's War: The Extraordinary Story of the Largest Covert Operation in History" by George Crile and published by the Atlantic Monthly Press.

Garcia has also been attached to the independent film EGO, to be directed by Antonio Macia. Nick Cassavettes is executive producing,

She had a dope body when he first started messing with her. Then, after a while they BOTH started looking like famine victims. Mayte's minders (those twins that were supposed to be the baby's nannies) said that he made her eat that vegan bullcrap. He put it out there that it was her idea.When they were married he was always saying shit was her idea. When he dressed up like Bryant Gumble he said it was her idea. That was complete bullshit.

On the other hand there's not much to say other than congratulating her and wishing her all the best. As Susann said, "that's a pretty cool list of actors" so it can't be a complete failure. At least not the movie. Will be fun to see her in action again.

Non of us really know what happened between the two of them and who introduced whom to what and blah blah blah. What's the point in discussing it? Marry Prince and try to find out, but don't be surprised if it ends with you filing for divorce, thinking "I wish I never knew"...

I don't know them so I don't know if it was mostly good times or not. However, after the dissolution of my own marriage it took me awhile to be able to remember the good times without the taint of the not so good times. Mayte was sooo terribly young when she and Prince hooked up. I'm sure that all the travel and exposure to things that most girls her age would never see were among some of her good memories. Just because she chooses to keep and cherish a reminder of her marriage doesn't mean that she doesn't have some unpleasant memories. She's just media savvy and maybe kind hearted enough not to air her dirty laundry (and then come off looking like the bitter ex).
