I found this posted on Housequake.com today by Jseven, when he was asked if Támar was present at the post-Emmys bash:
"As I have stated b4 but was ignored, Tamar and Prince have parted ways."
Later in the same thread:
It is not my business 2 tell yet about Tamar. I am not trying 2 keep anything from u all. It just is kinda personal 4 her. U try getting dropped from a mentor and a record deal."
So I guess this means Támar's album will never be released

Yeah, I read that too. I wonder what happened. Somewhere she and Mani are sitting around with a voodoo doll that looks like Prince and furiously poking needles into it!

Well, I was never a fan but she has got to be crushed if that is true. Anyways,isn't that the way it usually goes for Prince's girlfriends..I mean.. singers.

If it's true then it either really sucks for her OR it frees her up to work on an album with a mentor/producer/label that actually plans on releasing her work.

TAMAR will land on her feet. She has talent. Talent that I believe would be best suited outside of the Prince world. Everything happens 4 a reason.

It is August 29th and her myspace page still says the CD is coming out 2day.

Perhaps she became uncomfortable with the whole "protege" thing, or became disgusted with the unforseen attack on her or wishes for her doom (as seen here and other Prince websites), before her CD even dropped or before she got a chance to shine.

Prince has dumped her for a bigger/better fish.....Sheena Easton. That's right, Prince is all up in Sheena once again and has just finished laying down tracks with her.

Whatever the reason she is no longer affliated with Prince(mutual agreement, she walked or he ditched her), I hope she gets with people that will be able to market her properly.

I wonder if Tamar and Prince "parting ways" has anything to do with his divorce and all of the innuendo about her and Prince being more than friends. Maybe he had to distance himself from her because of some legal issues/settlement issues he's facing. Or, maybe Tamar split because she felt it was best under the circumstances.

Who knows? Maybe we'll find out in time, maybe not.

After nearly three decades of evidence to the contrary, it seems extremely naive for anyone with talent to think of Prince as their golden ticket. Paisley Park is where budding talent goes to die.

I went to 2 stores today, and her CD wasn't displayed. Target online is supposedly selling it (it will ship in 4 - 6 weeks). Is the CD out or not? anybody know for sure?

I still want her album, I really liked "Milk & Honey" & "Redheaded Stepchild" when I saw her live.

Not that I really care to hear her cd, but it's a wonder sometimes that Prince releases his own cd's. Seems like he rarely finishes what he starts.

Here's a scenario that comes to mind:

You're a cute female singer with a good to okay voice. You've just finished singing up on stage with your band. A big scary bodyguard-looking dude comes up to you, bends down and says "Prince is in the back and he just heard you sing. He wants you to come back and meet with him."

[psycho bathroom scene music begins to play] and your face melts into a look of terror and you yell:

NOOOOO!!!!!

But not to be outdone, you're up for a challenge, it's time to play:

WAYS TO TURN 2 MINS OF FAME WITH PRINCE INTO 15 MINS:

My ideas are:

1. Join Prince.org and start kissing ass big time, especially before anyone knows you're working with Prince. A small percentage will hate your guts after they find out, but a number of them may still like you.

2. Save all the money you make with Prince which will give you enough money for recording time, producers and to cut your own CD.

3. Forget about the major labels, find a small indie label who would be tickled to get Prince's leftovers.

4. And drop the Prince reference like bombs.

Feel free to add to this list. Just think, you may be saving some young singer's career!

Maybe because Prince and Mani are trying to reconcile and returned to Minneapolis.

Mani hasn't changed her profile on her website either. It's said she IS married to Prince Rogers Nelson.
