Yeesh. I just re-read it and I'm surprised you could make sense of it. I need an editor - or a translator!

Wow, great reply!! Yeah, I've seen interviews with them on youtube, and Wendy does seem like more of a talker over Lisa, but I think they are (and still are) very beautiful women & fab musicians!!! If they were lovers, I think its cool that they could still be good friends even after they went together, that shows that they still had love for eachother over romantic feelings. Just looking at them in interviews, I would guess that they were straight as a arrow!! LOL. Like for example, Me'shell Ndegeocello looks like she's a lesbian to me, but she's actually bisexual. I'm bisexual myself, but I look straight as a arrow if you ever saw me in person...lol.

[b]I love Micheal DeLorenzo, havent heard much from him lately. I remember him in the 'Beat it' video

I heard that Meshell liked Wendy but of course Wendy was commited to Lisa Cole.

Girl I love Michael too. HE has the most beautiful brown eyes. MMM. I watch New York Undercover everyday on TV One even if I already had the series on DVD. Speaking of Michael's relations to Prince, Michael said that he went to one of Prince's concerts when he was promoting Emancipation and he asked Prince to appeared as special musicial guest on NYUC. I guess that never happened. sad Also Michael is very close to Sheila E and her family.

Yeah, I used to love New York undercover!!! Man, that was the show!! I was sad when he got killed off sad I loved him on head of the class too, he was such a hunk!!!

I've read that Me'shell bisexuality has hurt her sells within the african-american community...I dont understand cause arent most of the artist out nowadays bisexuals anywho...I heard that a lot of artist wont perform with her either....I cant believe that, that crazy!!!

I heard that too about Me'shell which it is very suck though. Many Black folks did love her until find out she is a bi. Anyway....

I was sad too that Michael got killed on that show. Fox wanted Dick Wolf to change the show or get cancelled and killed him and Tommy. Recently, Michael made a cryptic comment when ask how he felt when he got fired and he was like, 'You see what happened afterwards right?' I guess me he meant that the show was cancelled in fourth season because people were pissed of him not being on there.

I don't know, I'm feeling a bit chatty today.

Alright folks, I have decided to share a wild belief I briefly had as a teenager regarding Wendy, Susannah, and Prince. I am already acknowledging it's a bit wild, but hey, I was young. Anyway, at one point I believed Prince actually fell in love with Wendy but knew he couldn't have her and so he decided to go for the next best thing.....Susannah. It always seemed Prince and Wendy had some sort of connection between them that wasn't so obvious with the rest of his band members and protege's.

Don't get me wrong I believe Prince truly and legitimately loved Susannah, but if possible, he would have been with Wendy.

This whole thing may be so far from the truth it may as well be on Pluto, but at one time I actually believed that theory.

Wow I thought that i was the only one think that.

I don't think that's too far off from reality. He even alludes to it in "Condition Of The Heart":

How was I to know
that she would wear the same cologne as you
and giggle the same giggle that you do
whenever I would act the fool
the fool with a condition of the heart

These lines are widely believed to be about Wendy and Susannah.

Um, define wide. I've collected information on all things Melvoin for over eight years, including reading every biography I can get my hands on about the Revolution days, and I have never once heard this theory floated.

I suspect your definition of "wide" might vary from common usage . . .

My use of the phrase "widely believed" was used in the context of my experience posting on prince.org.

I also remember reading (in DanceMusicSexRomance, I think) that Condition of the Heart was confirmed to be about Susannah. Members of the Revolution confirmed that Prince used to say that Wendy reminded him of silent film star Clara Bow (there was a woman from the ghetto who made funny faces just like Clara Bow/how was I to know...). The writer went on to speculate that Prince, already enamored with Wendy in many ways, was blown away upon finding out she had a twin who turned out to be such a feminine, beautiful creature.

i've heard this interpretation, which i happen to agree with, and also the following, which is a little more of a stretch. it was proposed to me by a fellow student of Princely lyrical dissection that perhaps the following lyrics were inspired by W & S:

I could tell from the moment U walked in the room
That it wasn't your dress U had on
That wasn't your perfume
And what happened 2 the ring that I gave U?
What am I 2 assume?
I love U, but I don't trust U anymore

The song, by timing, is definitely of the Mayte era and indicative of the state of their relationship, but the opening lines with the allusion to switched clothing and shared perfumed could have been vaulted back in the day. The lyrical set-up is similar to COTH.

Interesting. I always thought those lyrics alluded to Mayte cheating on him with another woman.

thought or wished? wink

there's also the weird genderfuck issue that the "not your dress" line is about Manuella dressing in Mayte's clothes, and the whole issue of cheating is actually about P cheating on Mayte, not vice versa.

That is so silly!!

If the black community stopped liking her music because she is bi, that is silly. There are plenty of gay/bi people who like straight artist (PRINCE IS A PERFECT EXAMPLE!!!!!). It has to do with the talent, not the artist's private life. No wonder Luther Vandross didnt come out of the closet before he died, makes a lot of sense...ALONG WITH A LOT OF OTHER ARTIST WHO ARE STILL OUT!!
