Anyway... so how is the Soul Asylum gig going? Have you been touring a lot? Future plans? Oh yea and is the bass player on Saturday going to be Tommy or John? Thanks!!
the soul asylum gig is going great. alot of people still don't realize the band has returned. but, we have great fun, and there's some talk about the possibility of the band going out in support of GNR.. that would help the profile of the band, extensively.. tommy played tonight.. michael b.

Hi Michael once again and Thanks for sticking around this is very interesting.
I always feel that Prince seems to allow for each and everyone of his bandmembers to have their share of the spotlight. I mean you get a lot of singers with a band and nobody knows the name of their drummer or bass player etc etc but with Prince you get to know who the person is behind the instrument and you get to see what they can do as a musician in their own right. Its happened to me on many occassions that even after a musician leaves the NPG I will still carry on with an interest in their solo work. Did you see this as well being part of the NPG? Thanks Dori

Thanks Dori yes. i would agree that prince shares the spotlight with the band, in a way that gives them enough exposure to allow them to have a career, afterwards. it's a good perk. michael b.

Hi Michael -
you said that Come and Gold were recorded at the same time and you never knew what was an album or not - they were just songs. Is the same true for Exodus? Did you know you were working on an NPG project as opposed to a 0(+> album? Thanks. Stand at the crossroads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths...(Jeremiah 6:16) www.ancientfaithradio.com

Hello mike. Just wondering a couple of things.
Did Prince help Sonny with the bass for 'sexy mf' or was it just sonny? Also. Did Prince tell you if cream was written about himself? How high would you rate Prince on guitar(obviously you heard soundchecks e.t.c we haven't)? Can you plz clear up who did the drums on gett off? Thanks.

Michael,
What are the benefits or draw-backs of using a "traditional grip' vs a "match grip"? Obviously you prefer a "match grip" but have you/can you play with a 'traditional grip"? "Always blessings, never losses......"

Thanks. i don't remember about the bass on "sexy mf".. i don't know who "cream" was written about.. i would rate him very high.. his solos are inventive, and his time is impeccable.. i don't know whether it's prince or me.. we probably both took stabs at it, and he built a loop, and that was it.. part of what you hear is a loop from "hold on" by en vogue. plus, there's an electronic kick an a sample of an anvil on the 2 and 4. so, it's a bit of a mish mash. i can't say, for sure.. michael b.

Thank you Michael for hanging out with the org.
my question to you... Did when you worked for Prince did you view him as a HOLY person who was doing the work of Our Father, someone who was indeed preparing the world for "the dawn". Where you truely convince that you were bring forth a "New Power Generation". was the experience for you truely God sent/inspired to prepare his children for the reunion of his grace. or was was working for prince just a manifestation of hard work and determination, skill, and luck. also.... what are the spiritual rewards you have obtained from the experience. curious to know your answer.
