Funkadelic!

Well, last night I went to the George Clinton (aka Funkadelic) concert. 20 people on stage, 4 hours non-stop (literally) funk music. My friends and me were in row 1 and passed joints to Clinton, and he passed them to the rest of the band. 10 girls jumped to the stage to dance (then there were 30 people). Well, i had fun.

They started a funky tune at 9 PM, and that song finished at 1 AM. And it was the good one. No encores LOL. Recommended (once a week). Definetely funnier and healthier than gym.

now i'm 2% jazz, 98% funk

I love P-Funk, Funkadelic concerts!!! I once went to a show that started at 10:30 pm and ended at about 6 am.
Another time I went to a show(front row) and George was so FUNKY (LITERALLY) that I had to move back a few rows!
The last time I saw them was so awesome. It was a smaller venue and of course they jammed for HOURS! It's so cool to see George jammin' to his own music.

I hope they come to St. Louis soon.

Congratulations on your funk conversion!!

Associated artists & people? Music & More more likely wink
Anyway, George Clinton = Funkadelic ? Now that ain't right.
Funkadelic is a band. Not one person. Besides, their funk stuff was released under the name Parliament
It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

George Clinton was a part of the Funkadelic-Parliament group(s) and I think most people will connect and understand what the thread starter meant.

You don't consider "Maggot Brain," "One Nation Under a Groove," and "Free Your Mind and Your Ass Will Follow" funk? Those albums were all released under the name Funkadelic, weren't they?

Right!
I think George brought together the band Funkadelic with his band Parliament. Anyway, the point is that yes you can call George Clinton Funkadelic...people know what you mean when you say that.

Aye they do, but that's not entirely correct. And yea they released funky stuff as Funkadelic but that side of them leaned more towards rock than hardcore funk.
Parliament on the other hand is pure funk fro headbang music

The VERY VIRST concert I ever went to was with Raydio, The Gap Band and BOOTSY COLLINS! I was 9!

My SECOND concert was Parliament-Funkadelic THE MOTHERSHIP CONNECTION-I think that was the name of the tour. I was 12 or 13.

Went to see George last night. Great stuff there was an 11pm curfew and they pulled the plug on 'em! lol

The drummer carried on playing and everyone stood there chanting 'Shit goddamn get off your ass and jam!' headbang

Cool night and I got my CD signed! biggrin

I saw them last year in April in a small club and it was unbelieveable! Four hours. When they jammed the "good song" it went for 40 minutes, incredible. Then they played One Nation and I nearly lost my mind! What a night!

I even got to dance onstage with Sir Nose and GC himself. I refused to go anywhere near diaper guy, though. lol

Yeah - I was there too! Shame about the plug being pulled - GC just thought his mic was out and was trying different ones !!

Garry Shider passed me the mic during "One Nation..." and I got to sing a line!!

You weren't the guy with the red prince t shirt and symbol necklace by any chance??
