First Avenue on Fire!

This was posted by the folks at First Avenue and 7th Street Entry on MySpace this morning:

We're on fire!!!

Well at least we were... literally...

Today the VIP Room was gutted by fire.
Thank goodness no one was hurt!
At this point the source of the fire is undetermined.

The entry will be open tonight- Digdeep in the VIP room has been cancelled.

Please join us tonight in the entry for Court & Spark or to just have a drink and thank god we are all ok... minus some damage to the club and some missing windows.

We appreciate all your support and warm thoughts.

Love always,

First avenue

Man that is lousy. I was just on the phone yesterday with family in Minnesota making plans to visit, and swing into a show there sometime soon.

I wonder how long it will take to fix the damage.

perhaps you should shift your attention to providing aid to africa instead of spreading bad vibes in an internet discussion thread. just a thought, thank me later.

Yes, because people should only show sympathy, show grief or lament one thing and one thing only and that one thing must be whatever is considered the very worst tragedy. To regret a fire at First Avenue is, after all, to shun, nay, to kick sand in the face of people dying in Africa who right this minute are cursing our evil and knowing prioritising of our compassion.
