She always struck me as a woman who wore the pants in the family...but things are not as they always appear. More than likely she probably is very compliant...I mean just hearing Prince's lyrics in 1+1+ is 3 I guess it is pretty easy to imagine Prince with a woman like that. But to be truthful I think any woman married to Prince would be insecure...being married to him probably is alot of fun in some ways...but probably really lonely too...

Well, i ain't on the Mani bandwagon but, if my husband was Prince, I would definitely be concerned about what he thought about the way I looked. I would be like "D'you think Prince'll like it? Cuz Prince has a certain taste when it comes to women. My husband, Prince says this color looks best on me. Hey I tell you what, just gimme all these dresses in that color I said Prince liked. Prince likes this kinda skirt and blouse. I remember one time Prince said my hair looked nice this way. We should do that again." Shit, I ain't mad at that at all.
At least she's getting professional help and not relying on her own lack of style (if she has a lack of it).

Hey, you think Prince will like what I said about Prince's wife? Cuz Prince don't really like people talking about her...Prince's wife, I mean.

I always figured that she had a stylist just for the simple fact that a)those first couple of pics that popped up of her and prince she looked a mess but now she's always, imo, dressed and accessorized well and...b)It seems that most women in or associated in the business have a stylist. I hope that mani's picked up some pointers along the way and that she can pick some things out on her own.

From knowing a little about her watching her at the parties i would have to say that she doesn't really seem to have that "umph" to it...even in her body language...the clothes are wearing her not vice versa which would make it a wow...you have own it...not perhaps rent the look so to speak...doesn't seem like her...infact i use to see her in jeans and tshirt.. and once she had on a suit that didn't even look like it fit her....she didn't change suddenly until she started dating the man....then the looks started to change.

i guess my whole point is i agree with eh.. not really. she is prettier in person tho...

Well, I thought that she probably had some kind of help, like most famous people. (Even if she's not famous on her own she is Prince's wife) Didn't know she was that lost as it sounds by your comment, but at least the results are often very good! It's not that strange to behave like that when you go from being a "nobody" to being Prince's wife. That's a BIG step! Perhaps she isn't the nicest or coolest person out there, but here it doesn't really matter. I'm talking about what she wears. And of course what you wear changes when you have more money to spend and professional help.

You (we) are all just jealouse! razz

Let us stop the hatin', at least until we know for sure what's up between them!...

AWWWWW memmmmooorrriiiiieeeessss! Was Prince and Mani married at the game? Or where they just dating? Was he just out with his assistant and couldn't kiss her during the "kiss" song? They do that in DC as well (the kiss song) and it's always funny.

But what? Why is it almost impossible to start any kind of Mani thread without people trashing her? Hmmm...
wink

Maybe we should start a "Who is the perfect woman for Prince"- thread?...

I do like Mani's clothes; I'd wear any of them myself.

And it's nice to see a "Prince" protegee modestly dressed...

I don't know about you all, but I get a lot of smiles when I go out dressed in classic clothes like these (or the less glamorous everyday versions). I've recently had to repurchase my entire wardrobe, more or less (youall know about the fire, I think)... and I've gone classic all the way, in the interest of simplicity, non-materialism and simply making my life easier by not joining some sort of fashion rat-race.

For a woman in public, it's also nice to get attention that is not provocative in some way.

Frankly, J Peterman should be naming a dress after Mani. In 50 years, maybe. cool

nod Nautrally beautiful women like Mani will always get attention from men dressing classy. I love her style...but I there is alot of Mayte's clothes that I think look great as well. On stage Mayte dressed really sexy but she was an entertainer so dressing that way was appropriate..but actually Mayte just out and about had a cool funky but feminnie style. Sometimes Mani dresses a little conservative...you can still dress sexy but be covered up. I always thought Mayte had the coolest style...but Mani does wear alot of cool outfits too.
