Mani as a fashion icon Ok, that's a little of an overstatement, but I do like her style! Beautiful and "glam-casual" I would call it. I think she would do very well in a fashion magazine like instyle or elle.
What's your opinion? | |

yeah, i agree it is an overstatement.
she does not dress badly or trashy or gawdy, which is good. But there is nothing especially eye-catching about her style.

How about gram-glam, as in she dresses boringly like a grandma? The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

Interesting that they don't include any mention of Prince when mentioning her, or even include her married last name. Is she becoming a celebrity in her own right?

If I wasn't a Prince fan, I honestly would wonder "who is Manuela Testolini" pretty much. i mean, he has NEVER shown up with her to any of the events she's been to. damn, why can't he support his woman? what is up with that? she's married and is constantly showing up dateless at events. somebody needs to get her a pic next to Jamie Foxx's whore ass. I bet Prince won't let her go nowhere alone then.

There was a Cuban poet (someone help me out) who once told his daughter, "Dress simply and modestly, my girl. For the woman who carries a lot inside her dresses simply on the outside."

Maybe this will give a little insight...BTW the pics were taken at the Lakers/Heat game on Dec. 24, 2004: here's a little more info on PRINCE at the Laker game... my sister and I were in attendance that night. The whole place was buzzing over the Kobe/Shaq drama... lots of stars in the house... got the call from Mom who was watching the game at home and she told us that they showed PRINCE... we immediately spotted him on the floor. Some stuff that you didn't get to see on TV... during the third quarter they played Let's Go Crazy, people started screaming... and we thought for sure that they were going to put him up on the screen... nope... waiting... waiting... then they finally showed all the stars that were there... PRINCE was sitting right next to Samuel Jackson and a couple of seats down from Snoop... when they showed PRINCE on the big screen the place erupted... and he did a "surprised" reaction...totally animated and into it... it was so fabulous! My sister and I were screaming! Now between the third and fourth quarters, they always do this KISS ME thing... they play the pixies song "kiss me" and show various people in the crowd on the screen and prompt them to kiss. We sat there saying... "they're going to show him, they're going to show him"... sure enough the last couple on the screen was PRINCE and Mani...she was so cute, totally embarassed and laughing... PRINCE was HYSERTICAL... he started primping and straightening his collar, he stood up, took her hand... just having fun and clowning around, then the song changed to KISS... we were dying... then the game started and they took them off the screen... never did see the "kiss"... but they seemed to be having a great time... couldn't tell who is was going for because he never really clapped... but he stayed til the end... we were so happy when they went into overtime... we could've stayed there all night long! gia http://www.npgmusicclub.c...hp?t=98005 "I would say that Prince's top thirty percent is great. Being a president, in prisson, livin' in the ghetto... NOTHING compared to being P's wife! I know people did the same thing to Mayte when she was married to him. They just trashed her. It's like no one will be happy with Prince's wife unless ofcourse it is them!

Being a president, in prisson, livin' in the ghetto... NOTHING compared to being P's wife! Hey, I could have burned her a lot worse. I was simply saying that although she dresses well, she doesn't have enough exposure to become a 'fashion icon'. In fact, it has everything to do with her 'fame', being Prince's wife. On her own, Mani just strikes me as very ordinary. I was in love with Mayte almost as much as Prince was, but I don't consider her a fashion icon either.

Guys, I don't see her as a fashion icon either. If you read carefully I have written that it was an overstatement. All I'm saying is that I like her style and I think she has a very good taste. And not only in clothes... [Edited 5/17/06 0:27am]

BobbyPin said: My ex used to see her in LA last year, she works in the business and she said Mani had the one of the most expensive stylists ever - jessica pastor who styles a whole bunch of the teeny wannabe pamela boppers.
she said mani had no style and always fretted what Prince would think. she couldnt make her mind up on her own. and she dropped her husbands name ALOT. I'm sorry. my ex could dress better wearing goodwill clothes putting them together in a funky way more than this girl with her designer clothing with HELP could ever do. I will say, though, that shes prettier in person. Her photos maker her look haggish. Ah, bless her heart... tryin hard for her man.
