She actually looks fantastic there. She has really nice hair. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

FYI, that pic was taken at the BET Awards Show on Nov. 1, 2005. Maybe I'm over-analyzing, but I think the statement "She is married to Prince Rogers Nelson" is an interesting choice of words. No mention of his vocation, no hint that he's a big celebrity. Many people who read the name "Prince Rogers Nelson" might not associate that with Prince. "I would say that Prince's top thirty percent is great. Of that thirty percent, I'll bet the public has heard twenty percent of it." - Susan Rogers, "Hunting for Prince's Vault", BBC, 2015

I am feeling that is intentional because she is obvious not trying to make this a "Prince thing". Maybe if she were doing things in the music business she would make it more obvious? Probably is easier for her to do her business wihtout always people talking about P to her.??

Website is nice. I find it interesting that she should choose "gamillah" and "salaam" over "bellezza" and "pace" (sorry italians, if I messed that up! I took Italian a looong time ago )
why do you think this is?

Now I see the attraction. A thinking man/woman's diva.
I never knew much about her prior to seeing the Gamillah site (other than the usual salacious gosspip surrounding how she met her husband), but I must say her aims are very impressive. Prince has finally abandoned the ceaseless chase for bimbos and gotten himself a woman with her own purpose in life.

Moongirl here!
I don't think the woman he had to me was no dumb they to me seemed to want to have a start in there career because most of them had dreams and goal of there on before they met him I have to assume. How do you know if they were dumb or not? Beside We don't know if mani already had this plans before she met prince or not. Beside I feel most of p discoveries he found want to do entertainment and to live there dreams and now they seem happly with the lives they have now. For example not to bring this up! But Mayte I feel or assume she already had some of her goals down before she met P. Now she trying to show everyone what she can do. Plus I feel she is doing a great job myself. So that all I have to say. Love,Moongirl

I don't think this gamillah thingy would have been accomplished if it were NOT for Prince being in her life. This site, organization did not exist before she was married to him. I mean, come on now. The bio section states she "divides her time between Minneapolis, Minnesota and Toronto, Canada." No mention of Los Angeles, where Prince seems to be pretty much all the time these days.

why do you think this is? Probly because Gamillah is arabic so it is the same theme ? I meant that her mom is egyption, so that's why she chose to name the company gamillah, but why not choose an italian word? Seems a bit weird with all the arabic vibe and none of the italian one... to be frank the whole egyption business makes me think of that interview with P and Mayte (was it oprah?) where Mayte said that they had met in a past life..and there was a connection to egypt. I mean Mani is obviously CANADIAN so it just seemed a bit queer to me. and...It's funny that her site seems to address the separation rumor going around the fansites. Why else would anyone reading her biography on that site know or even care who she is married to?

Yea I agree with you about the biography part, but I don't know any previously separated person who adds the "married to" part in their biography...don't know how that works. But anyway...I've heard a few people spotted her at the Tamar show in Minneapolis...who knows All the other kids would luv2luvya...but you're my little private joy

I think it's kind of unfair not to give her props because she is able to accomplish this because she's married to Prince. It's true, but not in a negative sense. Many people would be able to accomplish more good if they had the time and resources (i.e. $$$$$) to do so. I applaud Mani for her efforts. She could have easily spent her time and P's $$$$ getting her hair, nails, facials done every other day and engaging in all sorts of meaningless self-serving activities.

Why would someone with a degree in Law and Sociology go to work at Paisley Park in retail?
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |

I'll give her props when I see something actually happen. So far i've heard nothing but her making the rounds of festivals and getting free stuff at sundance. of course...she was probably planning to give all that swag to the inner city children.

Good point! and become an "assistant" LOL, I never knew any lawyers that wanted to be someone's assistant...so I think we all know the answer to that one.

Even if she does have a Degree in Law, it doesn't mean she is a Lawyer.
She has to take the BAR Exam for that to be, and I've never heard it mentioned that she has. and become an "assistant" LOL, I never knew any lawyers that wanted to be someone's assistant...so I think we all know the answer to that one.
| |

York University in Toronto
one of these degree programs is the one she followed. http://www.yorku.ca/web/f...asp?id=468 http://www.yorku.ca/web/f...=469 it doesn't prepare you to be an attorney. it stresses the importance of the law in civic matters and social work. at least that how i understand them. this one does that http://www.yorku.ca/web/f...asp?id=467 sorry to be such a nerd. your have to remember that university programs and their names and meanings differ for each country. which is not to say that i'm impressed or even give a damn in her venture. just thought i'd share and try to be fair.
