Dr.Fink & Dez on SNL: the 80s special

Did anybody catch this last night? If you had a sharp eye you would have caught Dr. Fink & Dez in the background. They were talking about the cast member who who uttered the F word at the end of the show where everybody is on stage to say goodbye.Didn't see Prince though.

Morris stay said "F*CK" at the end of The Time's performance of "Chocolate" on SNL..... he sits down at the table and says to Jerome "Where the f*ck this chicken come from, I ordered ribs??! Hyyahhh?"

On a related note. I ran into Fred Armisen today in my 'hood and told him we are diggin' his "Prince show" skit on SNL. He was very cool.... said he plays the guitar when they do the theme song for the skit.

You know Gary, there's two seperate performances of the same song circualting among collectors.Maybe that's why, due to Morris's slip of the tongue lol

you mean a bleeped version or something??

Cuz I remember I was living in CHicago at the time and taped it.... and I remember thinking at the time that "OMG he just said F*CK!!!"... Unfortunately the feed blacked out for a few seconds during the 3rd verse when he slows it down and gets all funky.....but comes back right when the tempo goes back.

PS that was so cool the way they did that.... would've been cool on the record.

I saw that special and I missed seeing Dez and Dr Fink. I was hoping they'd show a clip of them performing "Partyup" so that disappointed me. The special was a great.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

What's to stop Dez, Fink, Cymone, Bobby and Coleman from making a CD without Prince? Looks like Prince is never going to reunite witth any of them again. So why not make up some new stuff together. Call it the Counter-Revolution or something...

Probably because they all have illusions of having something more important to do in solo careers. Only Dez could even use that excuse since he is an executive with his label and producer. What the fuck does Andre Cymone or Bobby Z have to do? Lisa isnt even relevant anymore.

Bottom line is money: if there was enough of it, they all would show. But with no Prince, there is a limit to the dough they could rake in.

I agree with the overall idea if your post, SonofBlade, but Lisa is pretty busy with Wendy doing scoring for film and TV.

Dirty Mind is my favorite era besides the 1999/Purple Rain one. The band was funkier, hardcore, edgier and have this I don't give a f**k attitude. Too bad it was short-lived!!

I totally agree. This is the best response I've ever received to a question on the board...
