Morris was 16 when his daughter was born. He eventually got custody of her and raised her alone with family help. So that means she was born in 1974. and is now about 31. That is if my math is correct. sorry if that was over your head...jump up and try to catch the point next time.

On a related note, I wonder how someone like Morris (or better yet Jerome) makes a living now?
Can they still be living off of Ice Cream Castles royalties?? Do they even get any?? (maybe Morris as co-writer but Jerome and the others?) Do they tour to make ends meet? Same thing for Apples.... I always wonder how these types of celebs stay afloat finanncially when their "15 minutes" as it were are up. And I mean this seriously not to denegrate them in anyway.

Well, the Time has toured a great deal since Morris Day's solo career sputtered so I am sure everyone gets paid for that. I suppose there are residuals paid for Jerome's roles in Purple Rain and UTCM. He probably got a little something from the DVD recent releases - kind of like when TV show goes into sydication, the actors get paid.

well they have been on tour constantly since late 95. Pretty much playing ever weekend, but not much during the week. I've been told that Morris is the only one in the current group that doesn't Have to still work. Most everybody else in the band has something they do during the week, weather its their own music or producing and writing for others

They probably do about Fifty gigs a year and their tickets aren't totally cheap. I think they earn their keep pretty well.

Good for Morris. And I hope the others can soon join him in that distinction. Speaking of Morris, anybody hear anything about his new album? It's basically a Times Greatest Hits album with a couple of new songs thrown in. I read about it somewhere. Anybody seen it in stores yet? [Edited 11/3/05 13:32pm]

They never fought over her you are assuming stuff.Custody went back and forth until they decided on joint custody.Remember joint custody didn't come out until the 1980's.You must be very young. sorry if that was over your head...jump up and try to catch the point next time.
