i thought we were talking about music? not image. no?

imagewise? The Time. but if we get into that then we would all have to acknowledge Madonna is better then Prince.

Madonna is not better than Prince at all. She is not a better singer or performer.

Never has been never will be and I actually like some her stuff. She is just not on his level. Even some of the music critics are starting to see that finally.

imagewise...marketing an imagewise. please re-read my post...damn..

Alex was not good looking enough and too sweaty to be the frontman of a pretty boy group like The Time.

Alex WAS the frontman for The Time but he didn't like P's control issues and he bowed out and Mo'iss was put at the head and the rest is, as they say, history.

I agree wholeheartedly. The best thing to happen to the Time was when Morris became frontman. At times Morris was horrible at singing....listen to Hi School on the Time cd. I think Dez wrote that, but they should've changed to key to accommodate Day's vocal limitations. But that's irrelevant because Day is such an exceptional showman. He entertains. Moreover, you could believe he has a way with women. O'Neal, exceptional singer, but comes across as a day laborer. Nothing wrong with that...just not ideal for the Time.

Well one of the reason music is at the state that it is today is because to much focus on image and not the music. As far as the marketing is concerned I don't expect P to be good at everything and let's be honest hard to market an oversexed blackman to the masses.

You can't be serious? Then how do you explain the proliferation of rappers? Virtually every rapper out there comes across as oversexed! And they dominate the music industry right now. Prince, on the other hand, has been downplaying his libido lately in favor of spirituality. Some would say that's hurting him monetarily. Prince has instant name recognition, all he needs is another hit along the lines of Lets Go Crazy or 7!
