"My Drawers" origins

I dont' why I never noticed this before, but a nice Orger directed me to a Time fansite which I spent hours reading, and mentioned that the song Ice Cream Castles is basically lifted from the end of one o their earlier songs...

I think it's the Stick..... I hear it in my head now....it's one of those long jams that has new parts at the end with lots of synth and guitar solos. Anyway, this new synth sound comes in and plays the basic riff of "My Drawers"....even the same sound patch.

You're welcome... biggrin

BTW, did anyone notice the following (quoted from Averett1968's post on Housequake.com)?

"I had never noticed it before but on Prince's demo version of "Mutiny" I heard two very interesting names called out during the course of the song.
At the 1:58 point in the song you can hear Prince say the name "Jesse" during the "Get off!" segment and at the 2:28 mark in the song, you can hear Prince say the name "Morris" (once again during another "Get off!" segment.) Removing some of the lyrics such as "Baby" and Darling", is it possible that Prince wrote the song about the Morris and Jesse leaving The Time and how Prince stepped in and took the remaining Time members and formed The Family? Any thoughts?"

That is a good call. I am going to go back to the demo and listen to that. I don't think I ever noticed it.
The expanded version of my book PRINCE and The Purple Rain Era Studio Sessions 1983-1984 was released in November 2018. (www.amazon.com/gp/product/1538114623/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i0) or www.facebook.com/groups/1...104195943/
