Pussycat Dolls Don't Cha

reminds me in parts of when doves cry. Sorry if someone has said this before on here, but how similar does the structure and even background vocals sound to something Prince would do? In fact when I first heard the track I was convinced that he was involved with it... any views?

I told ya this song was like Glamourous Life/Vanity 6 and I wondered if Prince allowed it. Heard it or Had any Involvement with it?

Speaking of Pussy Cat Dolls I can't believe how amazingly gorgeous Nicole is.. she is breathtaking in my opinion.

And I'm sure Prince has/will notice her too... she is a gorgoues mix of Vanity, Appolonia and Mayte combined... his type to a tee..

This is one girl I would turn for...sexy

Something about the lead singer's face is VERRRY off/odd. Something is funky with that nose and lip shape. HMMMMM, nose-job anyone? Not pretty at all IMHO. She wishes she were a Vanity/Apollonia/Mayte knock-off. Jessica Alba looks more Mayte-ish than she does.

It was written by Cee-LO Froom Goodie Mob

It reminds me of Toy Box by Sheila E

I don't think I like the implications of the lyrics.

It's about man stealing. Can't the girl find her own man? I know a lot of chicks that do this, and I think it's pathetic and disrespectful.

Pussycat Dolls the name, sounds like a Prince thing...the background rythmn and beat is also princey...the vocals princey...the lead singer is better for Prince than wifey Mani(sorry Mani, you need more talent for showbiz)
Don't Cha

Oh, baby dolls

I know you like me (I know you like me)
I know you do (I know you do)
Thats why whenever I come around shes all over you
And I know you want it (I know you want it)
It's easy to see (it's easy to see)
And in the back of your mind
I know you should be home with me

[Chorus]
Dont cha wish your girlfriend was hot like me
Dont cha wish your girlfriend was a freak like me
Dont cha, dont cha
Dont cha wish your girlfriend was raw like me
Dont cha wish your girlfriend was fun like me
Dont cha, dont cha

Fight the feeling (fight the feeling)
Leave it alone (leave it alone)
Cause if it aint love
It just aint enough to leave a happy home
Let's keep it friendly (let's keep it friendly)
You have to play fair (you have to play fair)
See, I dont care
But I know she aint gon' wanna share

[Chorus]
Dont cha wish your girlfriend was hot like me
Dont cha wish your girlfriend was a freak like me
Dont cha, dont cha , baby
Dont cha wish your girlfriend was raw like me
Dont cha wish your girlfriend was fun like me
Dont cha, dont cha

I know I'm on your mind
I know we'll have a good time
I'm your friend
I'm fun
And I'm fine
I aint lying
Look at me, you aint blind [2x]

See, I know she loves you (I know she loves you)
I understand (I understand)
I'd probably be just as crazy about you
If you were my own man
Maybe next lifetime (maybe next lifetime)
Possibly (possibly)
Until then, Oh friend your'e secret is safe with me

[Chorus]
Dont cha wish your girlfriend was hot like me
Dont cha wish your girlfriend was a freak like me
Dont cha, dont cha
Dont cha wish your girlfriend was raw like me
Dont cha wish your girlfriend was fun like me
Dont cha, dont cha

Now that I've heard this song more (mainly on TV shows).....

I've decided it is NOT lifting Glam Life or Vanity 6.

Conceptually, yeah, it's similar..... scantily sclad, sexaully aggressive woman singing on stage etc.....

Musically, the chorus maybe overlaps a teeny bit with the lead sax line in Glam Life, but not enough to be borrowing it, and the feel is so much different (funky, syncopated sax vs. robotic, non-melodic vocals).

It's a sparse arrangement, so you coudl say it's similar to When Doves Cry but again, not enough to really be borrowing it. There are lots of songs that have sparse arrangements.

Britney's songs Toxic and Slave are much more of a "rip" of Prince material than this is.
