Another multi talented musician. Prince surrounded himself with very talented people (well except for the girlfriends-turn rappers, singers etc. :lol)

Bean can play some guitar.

Classic "Bean" Guitar Solos:

"You should be mine" from/Janet Jackson's Control

"Why Should I Cry" - from: Nona Hendryx (produced by Jam & Lewis)

"In My Life - from: Ruby Turner (produced my Monte Moir)

He's all over Mint Condition's first CD, "Meant To Be Mint"

"Fishnet" - by Morris Day

Isn't Janet Jackson's 'Black Cat' also written/played by Jellybean? Contains some rocking axe-playing as well!

I remember reading in a guitar magazine that Nuno Bettencourt contributed the second part of the "Black Cat" solo; in fact, you can hear some Nuno-type fills throughout the song...

Yep, But that was for one of the single remixes. Theres even a version with Vernon Reid playing the solo that's pretty cool. I have all of these in addition to the album version. Funny thing is that Nuno got a fair bit of guitar press for his contributions to the remix, but frankly what he added wasn't any "better" than what already existed in the studio version.

One inteview I read Nuno stated that the track already had a solo by Jesse that
was fine. Anyhow anyone out there have a breakdown of "who played what" on the album version?

I have my own opinion of course...I'm just interested in hearing what the other guitarheads have to say.

-kstrat-

BTW.. has anyone heard Jesse's solo in an Alexander O'neal tune called "Attitude"?
From what I read this was a regional single that predated his signing to Tabu records. I've not heard it myself though.

That was the same interview I read - Nuno stated that Jesse had already laid down a solo for 'Black Cat'.

I would love to hear that Alexander O'Neal track, especially with a JJ solo on it!
