What happened to RAD? Did she get fired? I remember he looked annoyed with her when they played the Ellen show..... did she get fired?? “Tuna, you better do something or else we gonna have to put you back in the can!”

I heard she was fired after the Ellen show and I heard she left to concentrate on her own band. I really wish I had an answer for you but I will say this...do we really need 3 keyboardists in the NPG anyway?

Wasn't she singing horridly off-key in that performance? And yeah, 3 keyboardists would be overkill just like all those damn horns were over-doing it when the catalog was being over-Vegas-ed just a few years ago.

I guess Rad wasn't so "rad" after all. But on a serious note, I wish her the best of luck in her current endeavors. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

She does not look happy... I thought she was great- but seemed the type to have too much personality for Prince to handle. But then he's toned it down too over the years... I mean think of the difference in style over the years!

I believe Prince wanted a guitarist for the Musicology tour so he could free himself up a bit more. Enter ex-NPG member Mike Scott (whos first gig was the Ellen show incidently). He didn't need 3 keyboardists and 2 guitarists. Simply put, he made the tough decision that all band leaders have to make from time to time. From memory you can still buy Rad's solo album from NPGMC so I don't think there's much (if any) beef between the two.
Who knows, maybe she was a junkie RAD (in a husky Miles Davis-esque voice): "Prince... I need some mo' cash for my stash!... I'll kick yo' ass!" Toejam @ Peach & Black Podcast: http://peachandblack.podbean.com

I thought three keyboards was a bit much. I don't think he's ever had more than two, not including himself.

There was an insider that reported the firing of Rad. Someone mentioned the off key singing and Prince giving her the evil eye as the reason for the dismisall and the insider said that was pretty much the reason. This insider turned out to be a tailor who made Prince's clothes, and he recently passed away.
