Why is Sonny T always seated when he plays?

as a bass player myself most sit with thier legs crossed with the instrument over the legs,Sonny plays how he feels comfortable.thats what its all about its not about diabetes ( of which i take offense to because that killed my father) nor is it weight.its funny how when discussing a Musician,Non-Musicians have a tendancy to get in on something they know nothing about.

who the heck knows, i guess it just depends on the musician's preference and the type of gig he/she's playing... all i know from my own experience is that during rehearsals alot of people usually sit, both singers and players together...the more you go through your material and the closer ya get to shows, i've always found that the singers stand, and the players still sit, then by the time we get to soundcheck everyone stands, except the piano player or keyboard player...my other half is a bass player and the only time he sits onstage is when he's doing an acoustic set in a gig...makes the vibe more "cozy" for both the musician and the audience, i guess....(me, as a dillitante backround vocalist, and because i'm such a lazy ass, will sit on a stool whenever the hell it's offered to me !!!)...

I had Sonny on the show for an interview and asked him this question. He said Prince just wanted him to sit on a chair. No physical problem at all.
