Not really. Trust me. Men cheat because we can and because we're told it's the man thing to do. You have SOME men that cheat out of neglect, but that's a small portion. Men cheat becuase we can. Because it's readily available. Because we want different types of sex and pussy and attention and reactions from women other than our mates.

hmmm There is some truth to what you're saying. Of course, I sure other men don't share your philosphies on relationships. This may be applicable to some individuals but not all.

No, men cheat because we can. Plain and simple. Men are only as faithful as their options.

I once heard it explained like this - men and women have an inbuilt desire to have children. Now, a man sleeping with lots of women potentially means he has lots of kids - but a woman sleeping with lots of men doesn't particularly increase her chances of having lots of kids. So you can see that men tend to have a higher impulse to sleep around genetically implanted in them while women tend to have a desire to stick with one man who would be a provider and homemaker to their offspring.

Historically and scientifically speaking.

Which explains male behaviour but doesn't excuse it, of course. In a committed relationship, overcoming such basic desires is a way of proving your committment.

Vanity: Some people couldn't tell if she was white, black or hispanic.

Apples: Is she white, latina, itallian?

Mayte: I first thought she was arab but I have met some people who have actually thought she was asian???

Sheila e: Is she black or hispanic? Alot of people couldn't tell.

Mani: When I first saw her I thought she was latina actually.

Carmen Electra: For some reason I thought she was latina. She kinda has a simmilar body to us.

Ingrid Chavez: LOL when I first saw her I thought she was half black and half white! smile

I just love how most of these women are mixed with exotic ethnicites and it makes them look so beautiful and unique. I think Prince really notices beauty in all races...and he started taking an intrests in exotic women back in the eighties when most "sexpot" actresses and models were the Christy Brinkley apple pie types! biggrin

Vanity : white mother, black father
Appolonia: Mexican
Mayte: Puerto Rican
Sheila E: Creole mother, Mexican father
Mani: African, Italian, Indian
Carmen: White (not Latina)
Ingrid Chavez: Mexican

It's not philosophy, it's science and it's logical - birds are genetically wired to navigate south for the winter, you wouldn't call that philosophy, would you? It's fact. Similarly men and women are genetically wired in some subtle ways, despite having evolved, to behave like our caveman ancestors. We were cavemen a lot longer than we have been modern humans.

Because we have evolved, we can overcome our basic instincts, but that doesn't mean they're still not there in some form or other.

I guess it depends whether you believe in evolutionary science or not.

Again, I still will say that your views are truly acrhiac. This is simply do to the fact that human brain and DNA has evolved over the years. Thus, modern day man is a product of his enviroment and and his actions are not some dictated by his instints. Now, if man allowed his insticts to take over like your implying then, we would be live in a un civilized society.

Her first book was "Sexual Personae," second "Sex, Art & American Culture" and third is "Vamps & Tramps." She writes a lot about sex-related issues, as you might have surmised from the above titles. smile

so you don't believe in, say, psychology? i think you just don't want to analyze the subject, that's all. because not all men are the way you describe.

in other words... i believe you are speaking for yourself. you do not speak for all men.

Well, not ALL men, just a large portion of them. I don' wanna sake your trust in your man, just stating what I know as a man. You can psychoanalyze it all you want, but it comes down to having the option and the opportunity to cheat.

See, cheaters LOVE to divulge their indescretions to those they have no interest in, JUST to get it off their chest; kind of a mix between confession and bragging.

These are not my views, they are the views of science, therefore you are calling science archaic. The instincts left over are quite subtle and we have evolved to control these instincts, that's why we don't live in an uncivilised society driven only by caveman-like animal urges. But I don't agree with you that these primal urges have been completely eliminated.

For instance, we have other instincts left over from centuries of evolution - eg. fight or flee, where the body reacts to a perceived danger by the heartbeat increasing and adrenaline pumping in a fraction of a second, so that the human can more effectively run from the situation or fight. This instinct can manifest itself, for example, in some people when they just see a spider or a snake. We have evolved to control our fears and know that spiders and snakes are not the threat they once were, but that doesn't stop our instincts from taking over, if only for a few seconds before our brain re-establishes control.

The desire for people, especially men, to procreate is a strong one. It was necessary in ancient history to ensure the survival of the species and that instinct is still there despite knowing that the world is over-populated as it is. I really don't know how you can deny that instinct still exists, anymore than you could deny that the fight of flee instinct exists or the instinct of a parent to protect it's children at all costs. These basic instincts are centuries old but still shape our actions.

Basically your justifying your views by implying that science and the essence of modern day man is archiac. No. I'm justifying my views by giving examples and logical reasoning, something you are not doing in response.

I never said that man's actions are 'dictated' by age-old instincts, only 'influenced'.

Oh well, some people refuse to be convinced by a logical argument however hard you try.

Here, I've found some fun online tests for you to try about instincts that you claim don't exist.
