i can't believe that it seems that dez is going to be the first casuality in this round. i just didn't expected him to be the first one.

i like this game and can't wait to vote off next in the second round.

no no...i was just curious..lisa is your least favorite? cause thats how this survivor stuff works..you vote off your least favorite until there's none left...

i know your a huge wendy and lisa fan so i was shocked to see you vote lisa off before bobby, dr. and brownmark..

wink

correction: i am a bigger wendy fan
i know how it works hun and i just like wendy and she amazing guitar and lisa well...let just say that she good at what she does which is pianist but overall she doesn't impress me that much beyond that and i entitled to that.Wendy excellent producer and businesswoman, a take charge sista, and she is the type of homegirl that who is real and can be close friends (even if she lesbian so what) with so i am hoping that she going to win this especially after people voting off my other fav dez. we even exchanged a couple emails messages back in the late 90s when wendy used to have more hands on the wendyandlisa.com. i was so thrilled when she even respond and i really didn't expect that!

you said in your previous posts that a lot of people cant stand wendy and that kinda interesting since i seen more people gives props at her more than lisa but there are others thinking that she too overrated. also there are people here who loves lisa but dislike wendy. people often forget that they are separate people and they don't always work together. and they think that just because there is wendy there got to be a lisa.
[Edited 7/29/05 21:59pm]

thanks for clarifying....i wasnt putting a dig at your views...just asked for clarification...

and btw: i totally disagree with you..but thats okay.. cause we all have the right to our own opinions..

wink

this is how i see it..wendy and lisa need each other creatively equally....the only reason wendy is more of a presence vocally is because lisa doesnt want to do lead vocals...they both have admitted this...theres a reason why lisa appeared more on girlbros, because wendy couldnt.....she was too emotionally drained...its a ying yang thang....

sure, wendy is the more vocal and out in public figure.....not because she is a smarter business woman but because she chooses to take more "public" projects on...wendy is the showman and lisa is the torchered artist....while wendy is out working with sheryl crow and rob thomas, lisa is painting and creating sculptures...each of these components are needed, equally to create an album that displays the "wendy and lisa" monicure IMHO...yes, wendy can thump a mad bass on call when a great "pop" album is needed..but who is called when heart, pain and soul are needed: lisa. i think its telling that meshell ndegeochello asked lisa to appear all over one of this decades few masterpieces "Bitter" where wendy only appears briefly. (at first we thought both wendy and lisa played on the entire thing and meshell [in print] was pretty strong about setting the record straight...its meshell playing acoustic guitar, not wendy melvoin)....you lump all the "pop" tracks wendy has appeared on they still dont come close to the master that is "Bitter"..and im not saying this cause i love lisa over wendy...im saying this as a music lover...Bitter is a masterpiece...

so, i guess thats why i was shocked to see a fan of "wendy and lisa" put lisa up on the block before dez or any other....but now that you've clarified, i understand...totally disagree..but understand.

thumbs up!

and i dont get how wendy is a smart business woman (on her own?)..the only najor financial success the girls have is their film scoring which they both contribute/profit jointly.....

but, im splitting hairs....you love wendy..and that rocks!! headbang

i didn't know that lisa does art too i aware her mother does and her late brother too. so i assumed that she did the artwork on girls bro cd. and even lisa said herself in one of their old interviews that when they get involved pursuing and working on gigs wendy does the majority business side while she just does the music so that sort of reason why i give wendy the props as being a cool businesswoman. i know that lisa doesn't want to do leads because lisa feels more comfortable of being in the background and that she also happens to be shy as well and i think that she still like as people who went to the largo concerts also indicated that.

at least that you are one of the cool ones around this place who doesn't bash other people being subjective and i feel comfortable of having some nice chat with.

its funny..grlbro and i were talking about lisa's contributions after the last concert....during last week's Largo show she and another piano player (eeks..anyone remember his name?) jammed together...he played the heavy main part..and she sat there looking cool (and what the fuck like) and would finish his lines.....she fleshed out his parts and elevated it to a level that it would never have been on his own (we both felt).....

and thats exactly what she brought to the revolution (per dr. finks interview thats over at housequake)....and thats what she brings to wendy and lisa...notice she is given first writing credit on all wendy and lisa songs with the exception valley vista....i dont think anyone knows why but i've always thought it meant she had more of a roll in songwriting those tracks...why else would wendy be first on valley vista? a song she leads on.....

and for all of wendy's "desires" to be a star.....why is it when its time to work on an album, the album ends up a "wendy and lisa" album....they arent in a relationship anymore.....so IMHO its because she understands that lisa compliments and fills her gaps...as she does for lisa....

thats why many fans lump them together...not because they cant seperate the two individuals..but because they appreciate their creative differences combined make them a greater one...

thanks for the chat toovielv...i need to get back to this movie...my buddies are getting annoyed now....

well that true for her but also because they been known to the public as wendy and lisa and they worked together so long that it be kinda weird if they going to do solo albums and even i know that

anyway while you like lisa's contributions, i like wendy's funk and pop influence and i could easily dance to as well. and also don't get me started of that some incredible soft rock and also some accoutic she can too.
it could be that i am more into bass/percussion and funk and dance (Wendy) and less heart and mellow and classical (lisa)

once again you arent saying the greater one force to the ones on here who likes lisa but dissed wendy overtly but yet so the other way around

this been a interesting chat indeed.

no i am just saying that you sort of questioning me about voting lisa off yet u were mum as there were some people on here voted wendy off first because they can't stand her but don't want to see lisa off because they are bigger fans of her only and what u have to say about those fans? you don't see me being shocked of them voting off wendy yet wanted lisa be the winner because i respect of them digged for lisa's style and i may not agreed with it. i am not trying accusing u of being biased since you are a bigger lisa fan i just wondering...

well i am also pro-funk and r&b too and i still think that wendy could easily fits well adding her music influences in those genres. lol

Meaning you said 'people say this
people say that
Others say this
And then others say that
Always people saying sumthing about Wendy or/and Lisa'

They way you posted that part of your message made me think about the Blur song Girls And Boys, that's all.
It was a long shot, my teasing, I know; first you got the KNOW the Blur song, second you are supposed to understand WTF I was ramlbin on about! Heehee.

Personally, I am a big fan of all of Lisa's songs on the W&L albums and that I was very happy with her piano instrumentals as presented on the bonus disc of Eroica.

I cherish her backing vocals on the many Prince songs she's on. mushy No one understands why I liked Candy Dulfer so much on vocals on the Musicology tour; her vocals sound a bit like Lisa's; low. It made me like any Prince song Candy was on a bit better than anything else he released the last two years. Even Life Of The Party.
