What associated artist do you feel is the most talented musician? Andre Cymone,Jesse Johnson,Wendy and Lisa are the first ones that come to mind. Sheila E gets honorable mention too.

Most Talented Musician???
Sheila hands down. (If you don't agree, you GOTS to see her live!) Most talented songwriters? Wendy & Lisa, hands down. (If you don't agree, try listening to Parade, W&L The First Album etc.)

Jeez, is it THAT obvious I dont think Paul is that kind of person. As I understand it, Paul is very grateful to Prince for all he did for him and his family, but when he was asked to join NPG Prince required Paul to be and do certain things that didnt sit well with him and so he politely declined his offer. I dont think they chat on the phone but I know Paul isnt the type to hold a grudge. Obviously I dont know how Prince feels about it but I am sure he's moved on too, dont you? Well one of the demands was that Paul become a vegetarian.....? You cant impose your beliefs on others, surely Prince above anyone should understand that GetDownShakeItAroundDigOurFlavorfulFunkySound!!

I'm gonna say Sonny Thompson. I'm not gonna say why. Prince knows why. There's a lot nmore to the Sonny story than most Prince "fams" know, though.

Wendy; play that funky guitar white girl
and also Andre and he is the best bass player and too bad that he didnt stay after 1981. Sheila e. she could wack those drums like no other. No wondered my favorite actor Michael Delorenzo adored that Escovedo clan.

I heard a story that Sonny was going to be the bassist in one of Prince's earliest line ups but was too heavy. After losing 40 lbs,I think,Sonny found out that Prince went with Brownmark or somebody thru another band member.

Nam eone associate that plays their instrument as well as Jesse plays guitar. Name one that has shown the range of skills and success in producing other groups, making music in different genres, and composing hits.

Sonny Thompson and his group The Family (no connection to the group that released their album on Paisley Park except that Prince named the group after Sonny's old group) were huge role models for Prince back when he was in high school. (Andre Cymone confirmed this during his Video Soul interview.) Prince looked up to Sonny as an older, more experienced player and sometimes borrowed his guitar effects pedals.
