Question on The Time Live Did they ever do "I DON'T WANNA LEAVE YOU' live? That is a funky cut.

The sad part of it is that a live CD - or even a video - from the original lineup on the 1999 tour would have been a smash. The last Morris Day CD is a very poor live album and is not a true reproduction of a Time show. Besides, they truly have to be seen to be fully appreciated. How else could they be doing essentially the same floor show for over 20 years and still sell tickets?
I have live Time recordings that put that CD to shame. How can you edit curse words and the hilarious Morris and Jerome chatter between tracks? Just put the warning label on it - there are no young kids buying Morris Day CDs anyway; the audience that is even going to remember the last time he releases a new album is going to be at least in their mid 30s.

I think the swearing was removed so the album wouldn't get a warning sticker and could then be sold in Wal-Mart. That's a big deal. For a lot of people, Wal-Mart may be their only place to buy CDs.

They also made the songs too short. They played live on "The Tom Joyner Morning Show" on the radio one Friday morning a few years ago and it was a much better concert. They also played a better selection of songs. The only problem was when they would go to a commercial, they would go in the middle of a song and come back in the middle of another song. Does anyone remember when The Time did a live concert on the radio in 1981 playing material from their first album? There used to be a radio show on Saturday nights that featured concerts by popular R&B groups at the time. Andy is a four letter word.

I TOTALLY AGREE about how the cussing was edited out of that latest MD "best of/live" cd. on that "unofficial website" of The Time (which has a lot of good info on the history of the band) they list "bootleg" (?) dvd's of Time videos & concerts from their PRIME of '81-83.. stuff I would pay TOP DOLLAR for.. but the site gives no way of how to get any of this stuff.. DAMN. I'll see you tonight..
