I don't think that book will ever see the light of day. It has been in the works for years to no avail. Besides, I know her story and i think I have heard enough of her life.

Agreed. The other thing is,she probably would have a hard time finding a publisher.Let's face it,there just isn't alot of interest in Deniece anymore, except among Prince fans perhaps. And her story seems to be the typical "bad girl finds fame and fortune, dates rock stars, gets hooked on drugs then finds God and redeems herself",a tale that's been told already by countless rock stars in the past.

Agreed. I mean, this story has been told many times before. Besides, every interview that she gives she tells the same exact thing. It's tired and she needs to move on. I like Denise and I like Vanity. I have learned to separate the two. However, let's move on. For goodness sakes, even Prince and Sheila E have moved on and you don't hear either of them with the sob story.

Yeah; I've been waiting on this book for the longest. I'd say it dead in the water too. She would have been a PRIME reality TV candidate back in the day. To follow her through all this stuff? Wow. Wonder if she'd ever do the Surreal Life like Tammy Faye did...

I doubt that very, very seriously. I don't think she wants anything to do with the entertainment business at all. But, I think if she wants to let Vanity go, she needs to let Vanity go.

Well, I met her in '97, and though that's a while ago, I know her business cards said "Denise Matthews, Formerly Known as Vanity." I was thinking, "She ain't really tryin' to let go of that because it's what keeps her in the limelight--the whole before and after deal. That was a while ago though. I hope her cards still don't say that. I think a part of her is going to always hang on to Vanity.
