We all know Prince was head over heels in love with her. Didn't he write I hate u about her. Well he must have been in love with her because he promoted the hell out of that woman at the time. But how do you think she felt about him? It kinda seemed like she used him as a stepping stone to get where she wanted. Wheather or not it was deliberate or not we don't know. Do you think she cared about him the same way he cared about her?

Otherwise it was just more money he owed Warner Bros. He may have been very fond of her but he was still seeing other women when he was seeing Carmen, including but not limited to Nona Gaye and Mayte. As a matter of fact during her True Hollywood story it was reported that Carmen was miffed that he acted like he didn't want anyone to know they were dating. After she statred seeing B. Real she began to claim her relationship with Prince was strictly professional.

And as an aside, it's been my observation that if your that much in love you cut other people back, even if it's for just a little while, with Carmen, he didn't do that.

I always found it interesting how she said Prince used to make her sleep in FULL makeup and hair. She said he would routinely stop by at all hours of the night to check on her to make sure she was glammed up.

On the E True Hollywood Story, she said he kept her in the house all of the time while in Minneapolis and wouldn't let her go anywhere. It was either at his house or to the studio. She mentioned she would be sooooo bored it almost drove her crazy, while he would travel and go to clubs, etc. Prince kept a short leash.

If I am not mistaken, she got sick of staying locked up and after her album "failed" that's when she moved to L.A. Prince kept an apartment there for her, and when she wanted to try something else, he said she could but without him and he literally put her out of the apartment on the street, knowing she had no place to go. Plus, he had begun to see Mayte without Carmens knowlege back in Minneapolis while she was in L.A.

But it all worked out for her obviously.

Why do I get the sick feeling that alot of Prince fans don't like her because she was a young, cute, white girl from the midwest and you guys hated it that Prince digs that?

I know they eventually get the message (it takes awhile because he is so indirect) but they do move on. Does he then get jealous of their new love interest and then write a song about his hurt?

I just can't imagine ANY WOMAN stepping out on Prince first.
