Larry's performing skills

I hate to speak of the Devil evillol but for anyone who has seen Larry live with prince what do you think his performing skills were. I have seen a few taped tv performances and it seems to me that Larry looked and act his age (read: old.... ok older.)
Am I reading this right? It seems like Larry seemed out of place with the energy and youth that Prince personified at that time. And Larry had his wife come on stage? I saw her in an interview... if ever she looked and acted like a "mother" of a church, that was her. I could even imagine a big old hat and pocketbook on Mrs. Larry. They seem like the Deacon and his wife, not a rock and roller and wife.

Anxiety

tina graham is hardly a matronly ol' holy roller on stage. i'm not really sure what i would call her - a walking moist towelette, perhaps? - but a moth-ball-smellin', granny-bag-totin' aunt esther she most certainly isn't. lol
