According to the government copywright database... Sheila did it herself....a although it does sound like a Prince song. But Per Nilson in the Vault says it's Prince penned but he gave credit to Sheila. Is 'Sister Fate Music' a Prince copywrite name, much like White Fox or whatever he named the copywrite he used for JJ's '87 album? Did he write A Love Bizarre under Sister Fate Music, or was that Girlsongs? Thanks so much for this info - orgers (sans myself) are so knowledgeable! "She made me glad to be a man"

I'd be willing to bet that Prince wrote and produced this song for Sheila, reagrdless of what the credits say.

Prince wrote it,played all the instruments on it except for percussion, which was played by sheila, and, sax, which was played by eddie m.
it was recorded in april 1985 during sessions for Parade. sheila sang lead vocal. (at very beginning of track you can hear Prince count-off the song behind the drumkit)

Prince recorded it at Sunset Sound on Wed. April 24, 1985. The basic tracks were laid down for this song as well some additional work on Wendy's Parade (later Christopher Tracy's Parade) and UTCM (both of which had been worked on earlier in the month). The following day, April 25th, was when the additional overdubs were put to tape for Holly Rock.
Sheila did not record this on her own. Her vocals were added afterwards. The expanded version of my book PRINCE and The Purple Rain Era Studio Sessions 1983-1984 was released in November 2018. I find this stuff interesting, but I don't know how many other Prince fans enjoy knowing when and where and even why songs were recorded. I've written a bunch of articles for UPTOWN and other magazines so I've interviewed many of his bandmates, singers and others who have information about when and where things were recorded.
