What is the scoop on Jill Jones?
How did she hook up with Prince? Where is she from? Did they date or was it a business relationship with rumors?
I have heard She's always in my hair was written about her. True?
Did they have a falling out? It seems she was around for a while.
Any juicy gossip/comptetion about JJ and the other women in his life around that time?

Prince and J.J. met while Jill was singing backup for Teena Marie while Teena was opening for Prince on his Dirty Mind Tour. P and Jill hooked up from that. Hooked up meaning dating. Like Sly Stone, P used to bring girls that he was dating into the studio to sing. It just worked out that Jill could really blow and Jill had already co-wrote a few cuts with Teena. Thanks Guitarist. I do remember hearing about Jill being a back up for Teena. That makes her alright in my book becuase I love Teena.
And I guess it would help if prince dated more back up singers so we wouldn't have to be subjected to crap like "Carmen Electra" and other non singing girlfriends.
I wonder what Jill Jones is doing now. I heard she is married with kids.

she is from a small town btween Cincinnati and Dayton Oh., which is exactly where Im from!, also Carmen Electra is from the Natti, Prince been stealin me hoes.

Jill is an amazingly talented singer. As for the best, I'd put her in the top 2 or 3 of Prince's singers. Mavis Staples is incredible as is Brenda Bennett. Jill looked and sounded great at the Family Jamm in 2003.

Prince was really choosing well when he picked her to sing for him.

I thought the same thing at the time those videos came out. But now I think Prince was just playing into the shock value that he was doing back in the day. I saw an old interview P did with Chris Rock where he in so many words admitted there was NOT so much ambiguity in real life, just more like a stage persona. I would imagine that would also be the case for many of P's associates at the time. I used to wonder about P and Dez when they put their backs together and played guitars in LRC video.. I dunno, it seemes uncomfortably sensual.(uncomfortable for me) ya know?
