Who sings "Dance Electric" There is this song I hear on a Detriot public school radio station called "Dance Electric" (I think that's the title) and it kind of sounds like Prince's music and writing but I'm not convincned its him. I don't know for sure?
I've probably read this before or maybe it isn't even a Prince associated artist but that song sure sounds like something that Prince was involved with. It's even kind of spirtual. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Thanks in advance.

"The Dance Electric" is by Andre Cymone and it appears on his 1985 album 'A/C'.It was written and produced by Prince.Wendy and Lisa appear on the song too, adding background vocals. Here is the chorus...
"Dance the Dance Electric Listen to the rhythm of your soul you got to,Dance the Dance Electric Better love each other,it's almost time to go" Is this the song you're referring to?

There's a fine and very long outtake of this song performed by Prince & the Revolution. It's really one of my favourites.

Dig the "1999" reference in it. "...14 More Years..." If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

I also liked that. Thanks everyone for your help and all the details. I'll have to look for it (maybe look for the Pointer Sister verison, too). Thanks again.
