Is there a way to "unsubscribe" from threads you commented on?

I know what some of you might say "well dont comment on certain threads". True and I'm sure this has been asked before but I think it would be useful to have a feature in the "My Org" section that you can uncheck that doesn't remind you if someone has commented on a thread you've commented on.

It certainly would help in weeding out the useless threads you find yourself in.

Just a suggestion.

Thanks for the suggestion (which are reviewed by the site owner).

For clarification (not necessarily for yourself, but at least for other users reading this):

'Subscribing' to a particular thread (as the term is used on the way prince.org is set up) requires the user, irrespective of whether the user has made a comment, to select the 'Subscribe' button above a particular thread. That selection then results in the user receiving email alerts when there is a further post on the particular thread to which they have subscribed. If, having subscribed to a thread, the user does not want to continue receiving email alerts, they should select the 'Unsubscribe' option that is available in its place above that thread.

Regardless of whether the user has 'subscribed' to a thread using the feature described above, whenever we make a comment on a thread, that thread is then displayed:

i. in the list displayed in 'MY ORG' (which displays up to the last 49 threads on which you have most recently commented).

Furthermore, if at least one other member then makes a subsequent comment on the same thread, this thread is 'highlighted' in your MY ORG list until you visit that thread. (I think this is the feature to which this suggestion is referring)

ii. In the list displayed in 'Recent posts', which is accessible to all members from a user's profile (and which displays up to the last 60 threads on which that user has most recently commented). Unlike the shorter list in a user's MY ORG section, this does not include the highlight facility where one or more comments have been made following the user's most recent contribution to a thread.

There is currently no feature either to prevent the two list versions being displayed, nor - in particular - as suggested here (I think) for switching off the facility in the MY ORG display that highlights threads where other users have subsequently commented following an individual user's own contribution.

(Of course, for the MY ORG list, this list is limited to displaying 49 different threads on which that user has most recently commented and therefore (logically) if they subsequently make comments on 49 other threads, they will no longer see that thread listed in the MY ORG list and therefore be unaware as to whether another user has or has not commented further on that particular thread).

ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.
