How old is the org? I am sure i check it since the begining but maybe i justed registered later.

What is the name of the most popular fan site prior to the org? I remember the layout of the site but i dont remember the name.

I've been a member of the Org for at least 16 years, could be 17 or 18 years.

I've had the same avatar for maybe 14 years.

Simultaneously, around 2000-2001, I was also on AMP.

For about 5 years, I was very active here, then I only posted once in while. I became a more frequent poster again about 2 or 3 years ago.

I like this place, the problem is all the other crazy fans... and ex-fans.

Sometimes I hope Prince himself read one of my old parody posts or saw my equally parodic avatar -- but I know such hopes are preposterous. You can't say I didn't try my best by mixing 3 zodiac signs in one little figure.

I joined in late 2002 under a different handle, when I was 16, then changed it to this one in 2004. I haven't posted in years, but did come here to lurk occasionally when I needed to know what Prince was up to. Sad to be back under these circumstances.

Joined in the black&purple days during AMP days with a slightly different handle (NewPowerBeatz i think it was).Can't remember when exactly though.One of the best memories i have was when chatting online with Michael Bland who had an account.

Wow. Alt.music Prince seems like another world away. It's almost like I just dreamt it. Interesting days, they will probably be made into a movie soon. The beginning of the Interent.

Been on here 14 years as SquirrelMeat. Before then I was 7779311, and in the amp and PPML days I was a few different names, but mostly Shockadelica.

I've been here over 13 years too - as Se7en! I was before then as JimmyNothing, but I gave that name back to a fellow Orger who had it before I did.

There's a wealth of knowledge here to share.

There are at times petty or even silly discussions (Prince's black clothes don't have matching blacks, his afro has to go, etc.) but then there are serious discussions such as fanclub lawsuits and the future of The Vault. A good mix of both, IMO.

My advice to longtime members: if a newbie asks a question, even if it's been discussed ad nauseum, don't just reply with "you know there's a Search feature, right?" or post the dead horse emoji. Help. At least LangeBleu will respond with links and a short note.

We want to welcome new fans, not turn them away.

For so many years it felt like there were just a few dozen of us. I'm sure it was more than that, but I can remember in the MPG Music Club days, Prince was far less popular than he'd been and it sort of felt like he was all ours. It was an underground feeling, like when "The War" was released.

I'm thrilled to see so many new fans here (though devastated at the circusmtances) and glad they will now have access to more clips and tracks than we had then.

But I just felt like raising a glass to those who spent so much time here, as I think we're experiencing a very unique grief.

14 years here, though I was at least a lurker before that.

Anyway, I was just thinking about The War, and how I can't wait to play it for some newbies. I never went to any of the meet-ups, and I definitely have dropped out here and there, but this site has always been such a great source of knowledge and joy. And I was turned on to so many other good artists by more than a few orgers. Thanks, all!

I think I may have one of the longest running avatars, too Shouts to Lynda Barry, who I'm sure is a Prince fan.

Today's my 11th annivesary on the org!! ..Lurked a few years before (in the purple and black days). One of the things I've always loved about the org is being turned on to new music and artists. Stuff that I could only buy in a specialty store or online...I've also been able to meet some cool fams on and offline. When I joined there were some really cool folks like DavidEye, JesseDezz, banishedone, bthefunkee1, The Audience, Jennifer, ken powers and my main man blackguitaritz. Very nice and knowledgable people on not just P, but music in general..I think these days (especially with P's exit) the orgers are real friendly and social. I know there's some orgers that get on the other's nerves, but I have to accept that deep down they are compassionate fams too..(or they wouldn't be here). They have a right to speak too... Peace and healing to everyone.

12 years a member, around longer. And yes, all the other sites before that including NPGMC, alt.music.Prince, love4oneanother. Never been to any meetups.
