12 years plus. I'll have to be honest, though, that the vast majority of that time my presence has been minimal to non-existent. The org has mostly been a place for me to read/write about the three tours I was able to witness here in Australia.

It's good to be with friends here at a time like this.

sad and exhausted one week after his passing

Been around for quite a while, first it was the Controversy fan club days, exchanging outtakes with other collectors through the post before the internet, then on AMP and other forums, then the org...

Fan since I first heard "When Doves Cry" one Thursday in 1984. Member of the Org for 14 years, 2 months, 3 days for me. Not a regular poster, and often went a long time between visits to the Org, but since last Thursday I've hardly looked at any other sites. Still devastated. Will be for a long, long time.

11 years and 9 days for me. I don't know what took me so long to join - I was active through the Controversy magazine years too and the tape trading etc.

I agree with an earlier poster that was was largely unspoken has now happened and we all have to deal with a new (un)reality. I used to wonder what would happen if Prince had died in '88 after the Lovesexy tour a la Buddy Holly or something.. Would his legacy be at it's strongest given the quality of his material up to that point?

As it turns out, his death at a later age has prompted just as much praise anyway - he did enough when he was in his pomp and worked long enough to become a genuine legend...he got respect from younger artists through longevity and people discovering his earlier work (and his collaborations with some of those artists). People used to discuss how he was tarnishing his legacy with sub-par releases..well...turns out that's not happened, which I'm relieved about.

The Org is a valuable resource...you can search for anything, anyone on here...it's a historical document of Prince fandom through the years and needs archived if there was every any prospect of it's closure.

Lurked here since at least the aughts. Glad to have finally decided to speak up. Thank you all for your community.

Hardcore fan since Dirty Mind, registered on the org 14 years 1 month and 27 days ago, never felt something so special, so exciting ever before ... I am forever grateful that I found my musical destiny that early in my life and in his carreer

i have been a fan 4 far longer than 9 years 4 months 21 days this is just when i joined

i have been creeping these pages for far longer

and a Prince fan since i was a teenager i loved him and my love is forever!

I remember going insane waiting for Crystal Ball and trying to get responses from the 1800NEWFUNK operators.

When I FINALLY got CB, I was running out of the house in the rain and it flew out of my bag, and all the CDs went flying onto a gravel parking lot. I nearly died!

Been a member for almost 12 years. i dont recognize most of the posters, but there are a few mainstays. I hope the org thrives for years to come. I will definitely be around.

It was a hell of a ride. It was like following your favourite sports team. For 33 years (the length of my fandom). New albums year after year, tours, there was never a downtime.

Prince music lives in all of us.

8.5 years

About nine years I think. Time has flown by!! Have made some true friends for life, having met up with Org members at concerts and tribute nights. As well as all the great music, if it wasn't for Prince they are friends I wouldn't have.

yeah james, the current org look (org 2.0) was launched early 2002 I think.

I only lurked in the black/orange days but remember lively discussions around the NPGMC 2001 AHDIO shows and previously unreleased bonus mp3 tracks.
