Shouldn't moderators be above the fray?

Lately I've noticed some moderators attacking and insulting Orgers who express negative opinions about Prince. Not people who flagrantly or repeatedly violate the site's rules. Just people who post negative comments about Prince. These moderators don't just snip comments and/or explain why they feel they're inappropriate. They engage in hostile back and forth with the other Orgers, often including personal attacks or questions about why people even come to this site. (I'm not point out any specific examples because I'm not going to call someone out.)

Should moderators be above the fray?

For the amount of money they get paid, heck yeah!

But seriously - why can't they be people, too? After all, they are Prince fans who were asked to moderate a Prince forum. To my knowledge there is no one that scoured the internet looking for opportunities to moderate, and happened across Prince.org.

I have no problem with any mod engaging in any kind of conversation, as long as they mod impartially. And in my experience, that's what they do.

A moderator performed an act of Moderating that you disapproved of...

That is usually when these threads appear...

We just had 2 big ole threads recently on 'Negative' some people think

if U criticize a Prince song/album etc U are being negative

Some think anything less than Magnificent is negative

I said that

Is what that moderator said/typed actually negative, or is it just something
